We have several different types of ailments. Poison, Curse and disease have counters attached to the debuff. If you get a debuff called "Curse X" on yourself, and the debuff has 40 "curse counters" attached to it, you're going to need to remove all 40 of these counters before it will wear off. So, if you cast Remove Greater Curse (
webtools/spell.php?id=2880) on yourself, as you can see this spell removes 45 curse counters, so the debuff will be gone. If you use titanium, I'm not sure you can see how many counters are left, but I could be wrong. All other clients will show you on the spells icon.
The remaining debuffs that contain no counters fall under the "remove detrimental" category. Malos is a good example of this type of debuff (
webtools/spell.php?id=3395) The cure you need to cast on yourself to remove these spells will contain the line " Effect type : Remove Detrimental" in it. An example of a spell like that would be the T8 paladin group heal (
webtools/spell.php?id=9416) I should note that sometimes a spell with "Remove Detrimental" on it can also cure poison, disease and curses.
A spell that falls into its own category though is blind. None of the above will remove a blind. The only thing that will remove blind is something like this (
