How to parse

http://gambosoft.com/Pages/Downloads.htm

I just use the standalone exe. Install it or run it (depends on what file you get). Next make sure you turn do /log on in Game.

Next step, alt tab to the Tool (best to make shortcut to desktop), open it, select log file which is located in your Everquest/log subdirectory. Will be named YourCharsName.log

Next, within Gameparse, on the top, go to the very right, fill out some fields here like char name. What helps is to set Default Battle Timeout to 10 secs. Otherwise, you have to wait 60 secs after each parse ffor the XYZ has been slain message (which will not occur if you parse against a dummy).

Then next, go to the overview tab, click the fight you are intesteded in and click "Send plaintext to forums". Now go to our forum here, open a new post or reply and hit control + v to paste the content from the clipboard to the forum. Done!

EDIT: Just wanted to clarify while parsing PLEASE use the same dummy they do have different stats which will result in different parsing results.

I've been meaning to post this for a while now, but I keep forgetting. I have GamParse and I would love to get some parses, but I can't seem to get my log files to work. When I type /log in game it gives me the message that logging has been turned on, but there is never a log generated. Here is what I have checked so far -

1. Tried running EQ as admin
2. Change permissions of EQ folder (recursive)
3. Logged in as admin, then ran EQ
4. Logged in as admin, then changed permissions of EQ folder

I am running Vista Business 32-bit and Titanium client on a Dell laptop. Any ideas?

Check for a sub folder called logs within your EQ directory. They are in there.

Hmm have you tried to create the folder to see if EQ creates any file in it when /log is on ?

That is odd ... definately sounds like a permissions problem. You aren't by chance using the Steam installation and haven't moved it yet, have you? For whatever reason having files in //steamapps never works well ... wouldn't even let me edit eqhost.

I added the logs folder, we'll see what happens tonight when I try it out. This is an install straight from the Titanium DVDs, I have been hesitant to install SoD since I have been having these weird issues.
