Kedge Keep Event(s) and Targeting

I've been participating in the events for the mermaids for raid auras in kedge lately, and have had one glaring and frustrating issue that has affected a few others in my guild as well.

For me, personally, all three mermaids are targetable and can be casted upon, but I cannot sic my pet on them nor auto attack from ANY position during the event. There is no error message, nor invulnerable reporting. Just "Auto Attack On" and nothing. When they are in this state for me their HP remains at 100%, even after we have progressed to the point they are taking damage. (Confirmed health drop from other players, taking damage from my spells.)

I also have noticed that the first set of adds on Estrella like to do the same thing to myself and others, with mixed frequency. This seems to be sea horse specific, as the other adds have yet to do it to me. Estrella specifically seems to correct herself (hp wise) on my screen and becomes attackable by me when Pirahnas come out.

I'm going to try logging out and back in inside Kedge before any future mermaid harrassment, in hopes it helps with my issue. Any other ideas or GM attention is appreciated.

theres been an issue with targeting in kedge since day one of the raid auras - all you have to do is get in melee range, clear your target (escape) and retarget, then u can do all the dmg to them you want.

I'll try that again.

I've tried using only assist keys to target. I've tried escaping to clear targets and retargeting (click or cycle nearest npc). I've died (on purpose) and been rez'd back in and the mobs were still unhittable. Luckily, i'm a trash whore and not a main assist. But I can tell you one thing for sure: My rogue won't set another foot in kedge ever again until it's time for him to loot scales.

On a positive note, since I can cast spells at the offending targets, I can pet spam on my beastlord, thus adding to the general confusion. Getting called out for having more pets up than there is trash to kill tickles me on the inside. Just my contribution to make the event even more epic.

honestly i have no issue, i dont target the mob until i move within melee range, then i target it and attack and dont have any problem at all - as far as spells go - i notice that spells WILL land on the mob even if your HP bar for them isnt moving - look @ the spell dmg log or w/e you filter it and you will see the dmg is still being cast.

if you cant hit something the general rule in kedge is get in melee, clear your target, re target and you should be fine - works for everyone in our guild - could be a client issue ifyour using something other than Titanium/Sof/SoD perhaps?

The trick was get into melee with ATTACK ON, then clear it, and re-target and it rights itself. So weird.

Thanks for the tip Bront, it saved my sanity.
