Stone of Sutrdiness and other slot 8 AC aug

Good morning,

Just a random though. Gearing through tiers (now somewhere in 6) I found the need to go back to sebilis quite often to get Stone of sturdiness augs. Most of the quested augs in T3/T5 are inferior in AC (beside the ring and ear one).

I would love to see improved version of stone of sturdiness, same AC with 50hp/mana/end drop in 70+ group zone (chardok) so we dont get in the way of people willing to level in 55+ zones.

New augs slot 8 from LDON with again same values (35AC) for 400pts , 40AC 50hp/mana (800points) and 50ac 75hp/mana (1250) (whatever the numbers of points) so that people are actually willing to go back to LODN and would give insensitive to buy Token from Bazaar.

Tier3/5 quested augs could also benefit from a AC upgrade. at least, same AC as stone of sturdiness but add slot 16/17 to them ?

thanks,

If you start augmenting the ac value of augments starting in xp zone, you can't stop at t5...It means that developpers will have to upgrade all augments, up to t8. That's a huge work lol.
I remember that in the early days, I was pretty happy with ST and then POA augments.

To give you an idea of what I say :

You would like to see some kind of stones of sturdiness augmented to something like 50ac. There are already ac 50 augment for slot 8 : aviaks, sharks, kodiaks, and they are 10 times (and sharks are even worse than that) harder than any mob in Chardok. Putting new augments in xp zones would indeed allow people to be stronger so they could pass tiers faster, but then it means that progression will be sped up, and other existing augments will have to be upgraded, or they will just become obsolete and so the zone they are in.

There are quested augments in T8 that are "useless" from an ac point of view. If I remember correctly, the neck augment is like ac 10 which is a joke if you want ac on a slot 8 (but they got more slots than slot 8).

You can easily progress through tiers with what exists and POA stuff was pretty cool too. In VP you will find nice slot 16 too.

Keep in mind that augments have slots related to the kind of armor that drops in the place you are. Tier 5 armor has no slot 16 (powerful armor) if I remember right so no need to have slot 16 armor if you are geared in t5 armor. In VP you get ancient armor that requires slot 16, so slot 16 augments drop. And if you have better armor than the place you hunt in, you can also buy augments like Ascent's or Potactics'.

Thanks. I understand what you mean. It really is just the Sebilis part that bugs me. I have a full set of T6 armor and all the lore slot8 from VP. Still, this leaves me with a lots of slots 8 to fill. A quick fix is to go to Sebilis, fill those slots and then over time replace the stone of sturdiness with better augs. But its not really cool for lowbies who needs those mobs to get exp.

I had never heard of shard, kodiak and aviaks before. Will need to look into it, find more information. Thank for the suggestion.

ST and POA augments for chest leggs ears rings are awesome. Aviaks are in SK, Kodiaks in GD and sharks in Natimbi. But honestly, I'm not even sure that your whole group of t6 toons can handle a single aviaks. They don't have a lot of hp but they hit hell...and others are harder, and sharks are just hell because they are all roamers.
You can find tradable halloween augments, xmas were nodrop though. Ascent quest items are long but cool too if you are looking for slot 8.

Agree with the comment about the aviaks. If your not geared very well, they will eat you faster than anything in T6. When I first tried them I was at about 8k AC and I needed Defensive on and my clerics chain healing just to stay alive. When you go aug hunting on these mobs you need to be ready for some abuse.

I need to revisit these and see how I fare now.

I know you've posted feedback and not a request for augging advice, but until someone on the THF crew responds, here's some unsolicited advice ; )

I have to agree with Sianette here. I farmed 35ac augs and that got me to tier 3. Then I farmed ST augs and that held me over for a few tiers. I then jumped in to VP and cleared that place and got some sets of armor wearing mostly T3 gear. I then farmed T5 augs to put in the new T6 gear, grabbing any VP augs that I could find along the way.

Progression-wise, I don't see much of a better way to do augs, but they are totally adequate as is. I'll admit, some more boss-dropped augs would be a welcome sight, but everything is there for you if you need it.

In T6 gear, I was able to farm some (teenie tiny bit) of the kodiak/aviak/shark augs, but honestly only with my warrior in defensive disc. Hardly worth the time.

Couldn't the 35ac augs from Seb be changed to drop in a few other zones as well? This is not the first time I have seen somebody mention not being too happy about rocking out in Seb just for those AC augs. I will say in the time I spent in there I never once saw anybody mass pulling and taking mobs away from others which says a lot about the folks here.

I've farmed many 35 ac augs, prob. ~40+ or so... I don't believe I griefed anyone.

It seems that everything is working as intended. The plat farm is decent and its an adequate time sink. Working as intended IMO.

Dont like Seb? Go to CoM, Valor or Solb.
Thanks for the memories.

I used stones of sturdiness up untill T5. then I switched to the T5 augs, then in T6 VP had even better augs. Now I need to go farm the kodiaks aviaks and sharks a bit, to get the better ones, just havent gotte. around to it yet because Im currently working on 3 things at once atm.

Well, thanks all for the feedback. I know that, when i zone into Seb and there are people, I zone out. I am pretty sure I haven't caused any grief as well, but at the same time I am sure that other people have zoned into Seb, saw it was cleared / camped and zone out. That would be unintended grief 8)

I don't want to leave a bad impression that I would like to make it easier or skip content. I am not afraid of camps or long grind. My original intention was to find a way to make people T1-T6 gear not have to farm 55-70 zone to get augs. There is no challenge in pulling until you get the "too many NPC warning", clear and loot.

I am happy to have learned about the aviaks, shark and kodiaks. Something I'll put up on the to do list, when I get enough AC :P
