SoD issue with Lev - and Tower of Frozen Shadow

I have a new machine and I loaded the SoD client from Steam (purchased a while back but downloaded a week ago). Whenever I cast any form of Levitate on my self within a few seconds or as soon as I take a couple steps I drop to the ground. The icon remains on my buff bar but I am not levved. If I zone I am levved in the new zone but I soon drop to the ground again while the icon remains. Not sure why this is but figured I would mention it in case any of the code devs have an idea. Willing to do some tests if needed. :-)

The other thing I have noticed is some trouble in a couple of zones. High Hold Pass which I understand does not exist in the SoD client. Not sure there is a way to add it, I have been going around the long way.

The second zone which has become an issue is the Tower of Frozen Shadows. When I try to zone into ToFS my client crashes to desktop. I tried on several character and if the character has zoned into ToFS (while I crashed) I cannot log back in I just drop to desktop. I have to use the character mover to be able to connect to the game again. Any thoughts?

not sure but have you tried coping the zone files from a titanium install into the seeds folder?
Always meant to test it but never did.

Going to have to try that i guess. Right now I cannot zone to PoStorms, BoT either. client doesnt crash or antyhing just nothing happens.

SoD is NOT ready for prime time.

Lev no work.
Shrink/Grow no work.
Number of zones no work. (PoStorms, BoT, ToFS as a start).

I am sorry this is happening to you, I wish I would be able to help. However, I am running SoD in 4 computers and I do not have such problems (besides the ocassional "log in with Tit so I can get a particular AA that is greyed out on SoD").

Might not be the case for you, but, I had a patched SoD client on Steam (I orignally bought it way back when they said to on eqemu, but it was missing eqgame.exe so I had to patch).

Turns out I actually had underfoot and the reason BoT and PoStorms weren't working is because the zone files literally didn't exist in the folder. If you have an old client you might be able to transfer the files over.

I'm running into this issue now as well:

frozenshadow_chr.s3d is apparently corrupt - It's not missing, but crashes the game once I zone in. I've tried "reparing" via Steam to the base default, but that didn't work. All I've done with the base install of the game is use the THF installer and modify the eqhost/copy the spells_us. (I am currently installing Titanium to get my warrior out of the tower).. makes for doing your 2.0 a pain!

Weapons do not appear in-hand - Some weapons don't show up in my characters hands. It's really strange. To give an example: Flesh Biter (sword from Creator in SSRA) doesn't show in my rogue's offhand. There are other weapons that do this as well.

Link text is cut off - Only the last 5-10 characters of an item link will appear. The item displays correctly when clicked, but the full name isn't displayed in the text box.

Copied all files for Frozen Shadow over from my Titanium install resolved this. Will play around with the other two issues.

I think your issue with weapons not appearing is also due to a missing file (or files). Though, in some cases, it could be that they changed/removed the graphic and replaced it with another one, but I haven't seen any confirmation of that happening so far.

As for link text being cut-off, that should only be on item links from other players. Link text in quest NPC say messages should show up normally as long as the THF devs are using quest::varlink(<itemid>) to create those links and not hard coding them for titanium by making them manually. If you are seeing cut off links in tasks as well, then that is due to THF running older EQEmu code, since that issue was resolved a while back on EQEmu.

Seeing cut-off links from Titanium players linking items is really the only issue still left on EQEmu related to item links. It is due to how the links were created on the old clients vs the new ones. Titanium users see extra characters in the name if linked from a newer client, so the issue works both ways, just differently. I think KLS made progress toward resolving the item link cut-off issue between clients, but I haven't tested her code yet to see how well it works.

This is the case on THF too. Quest links and code should not be a problem.
