Alla clone missing features

Thanks for getting the alla clone back up. I've noticed that it is missing some nice features though. You cannot look up mobs by zone, you have to search for its name now. Also, there are no stats on the mobs except level and class. I loved seeing how many hp a mob had, how much damage it dealt, as well as its special abilities. I hope those will make a comeback.

while i agree those features were nice, it seems that it was more information than we were intended to see to begin with. kind of gave us an unfair advantage at times, i miss em too but i doubt we will be seeing a comback of most of those featuers 8(

I could only quote Brotn. Spoiling features won't come back, but suggestions are welcome.
Zone based serch might come back. It all depends on Topsy I guess, send him love letters.

No love letters thanks, only wifey can send me those. But posting issues on the boards is definatly the best way for me to see whats going on and if i can make a change.
I'll look into zones however.
Also note:.. I don't look at many forums, so it helps if you put these in the "Website" forum. Makes my slacking that much easier.

Ok here i go =D
I see that you are trying to keep mobs in a secret state, and although most would like to know all, you have made up your minds. I do not totally disagree with your decision, but I have a few suggestions that would improve the clone use a bit more.
I took a visit to the real EQ Alla, and what i see is
*Boss Name
*Boss Class
*Boss Loot Table
*Boss abilities (does not show melee damage, just spells, like DD, or De-buff)
*Boss Location
*Boss Quest Involvement
**** Comments! ****
That last one is the most important one. Allow Comments under ever singe thing in the database. You dont want to show us specific things? Thats ok, let us figure it out and be able to share it.
Lets say I want to know more about Mob X, i just look him up read what it has to say, then browse through any comments.
IE. Xyz123 Comments: While taking down Boss X, i noticed he silences every 20 seconds
or
__ Comments: Using a parser i can roughly say Boss X has 5mil hp
What EQ Alla does not show us
*Boss Melee Damage
*Boss Health
Hope you can consider =D
P.S. Miss you THF =D

Allakhazam only shows spell names that players submit to the website. In other words, nobody knows anything about the boss the first time that they're killed, it's only discovered after wiping to it a few times.
The way alla clone was set up before it just took the data from the DB. Everyone could see full spell details that should only be known after you've learned about the boss yourself. This feature severely trivialized encounters.

I wouldn't say it severely trivialized an encounter, it just meant that you may whipe one or two less times, lol. It's not like suddenly having that knowledge made the AE's strike for less damage or lowered the mob hp. Not disagreeing with the changes, just disagreeing with the choice of wording. =P
At any rate, Rage has the right idea. He just beat me to it. I've been wishing for those same options since the first release of the clone in THF's earliest days. It's the easily locatable player comments that make the clone that much more useful. Let's be honest, the streamlined setup of the clone is much easier to navigate and manage than any wiki and is by far 100 times better than searching around the forums. I think the biggest lack of the clone since day 1 is the option to add comments. That's your ticket to compromise over the loss of the previously displayed data, in my opinion.

If you made that happen, you would be my hero. (more so than you already are)
