THF Ranks feedback thread

Please use this thread to let us know about any issues, missing items (that don't have a tier but you think should) and any other thoughts/comments!
Quick note on how the points are currently added up: Each item/aug is worth its tier in points, but if the item tier is greater then your current tier, then the most it can add is your current tier + 1. So if I'm tier 3, and I have a tier 9 item, then that will only add 4 points. Of course as soon as I ding to tier 4 then it will add 5 points. This is so that you can't just have a few high tier items to level up, you need to make sure you fill all (or most of) your aug slots as well which will of come naturally as you work your way through the tiers.

Since item names have changed to include Tier, Macros that reference item names will need to be updated.

Counting augs to determine the tier rank is going to drop tanks down ranks, since there are some nicer augs AC wise that are from older tiers. (The various final words, slot 2 augs from Zek zones, hell even VP racnar's stone). Maybe only have it consider the top 10 augs?

Nilbus is right. Eschew is using a lot of augs that either have no tier (some of the holiday ones which are better than anything through T9, such as Sour Lollipop), or some are low tier (fordel gem for instance) even though they are also very powerful. I purposely had to re-aug and shift items around to get Fabled (tier9) rank just for the sake of achieving it
I want to say it would be better to exclude augments in the calculation of tier/rating, but I see the reason for it. If the purpose of the system is to assess group power based on some scale, then augments will push up rating to reflect stronger groups.
In that case, it would be a good idea to look over the holiday augments/slot2 augments which are not properly tiered. With slot 2 augments, they are all horribly low tier and there isn't anything offered at higher end to replace them. Especially since nothing has slot 2's in high tiers.
Fun system, just a few things to work out so that the rating truly reflects the character. Mostly just aug related conflicts though.

I dont really understand why.. maybe augs.. but my Possom is showing tier 0, 29 points, with lots of 6, 5, 3, 2 tier items. It seems you may need a total of 30 points from one single tier to be considered that tier.
I definitely have some upgrading to do but certainly not Tier 0.

Yeah, the focus at this stage is to identify holes in loot drops that need filling. I mean I was using good ol' stones of sturdiness right up to tier 6 for the extra armour class on tanks

That's why at this point it's mainly for show while we flesh things out loot wise then we can start making it mean something. For things like the final word augs, maybe we could have a quest NPC that will upgrade those based on what flags you have, or a little quest to do. But we'll have a think about exactly what we'll do, probably a combination of extra items on loot tables, and upgrade quests/npcs.
This is going to be really useful for us as admins to see where we need to add loot where it's lacking, then we can move forward from there.

Magelo character page now has an item list available similar to what you see in game with #myrank, and also the items database now has tier as an extra search parameter.
Possom: You're literally 1 aug away from dinging, go hunting

One big reason for this system is to do what you're doing now
It'll help everyone to address gaps in gear, both as players and for us. This is a really robust way of doing that. Including augments is essential in that function.

"Congratulations" is mispelled as "Congratualations" when you first re-equip a piece to update your score.
The line that says "The force of Chaos" etc that ends with "at the sight of the Commanding Paladin Kyrann" - Making these as prefix titles would be cool. You could show off your progression via title, whether you break a new tier and feel proud for it or even make some friendly competition at the highest tiers
