Leveling up a new crew, just trained up all my available skills on my sk tank but riposte won’t let me put a point in to it.

I ran in to this problem on another character as well, but eventually got it to work.

Searched the forums and found similar posts but no real answer.

Using base ui, with MQ.

Tells me I am able to train is based on level also.

What's your character name? Also, can you link those similar posts please? I couldn't find anything.

Character name is Almost.

Had to do a couple searches to remember my tag line but this is the post I had found.

I haven’t been back on my SK to check to see if I can train it now as he’s 28 or 30 after some more leveling after my post last night.

But I recall a similar thing on my first group I leveled up where I couldn’t train it initially but I went back later and it let me even though both times I was displayed as able to train with zero points and an “awful” skill level.

Once i get home tonight from work I can follow up and see if I can train riposte on Almost (sk).

Ahh I see. Yeah, so to actually be able to skill Riposte up, you need to first learn it aka 'purchase the skill' by right clicking Grave Lord Arel (GM ShadowKnight) who is found in THF at the caves and spend one skill point into Riposte. Once you have spent 1 point into the skill, you'll be able to level it up. Please note the skill has a cap based on your level.

One more thing that might not be obvious, the skill cap starts at 140 for SKs at level 29. That's when you can first purchase it.

Okay. That’s the issue then it was actually displaying I could purchase it much earlier than 29. ie didn’t have a level requirement displayed for me anymore like it did in my lower levels.

I figured it was a visual bug.

I was trying to purchase the skill from the trainer, just to be fully clear on that. I was purchasing all the skills I had leveled in to at the time but while riposte was displayed as purchasable it wouldn’t allow me to “train” it.

Im gonna hop on a new SK and see what the display level is showing on him as a newly rolled character just to follow up.

At the trainer it’s displayed as trainable at level 20 on a newly rolled shadow knight, so that’s where the confusion is coming in at.

If it’s not trainable til 29 in reality there’s a pretty large window where it says you can purchase it as a skill but actually can not.

I have this problem as well on an alt that I use to play with new people, from time to time. She\s a Bard named Rhapsody, but I'm not too worried about it. Probably a level thing, though I'm sure it said something lower, and now it says nothing.

Yeah, it’s not a huge deal but just wanted to kinda let it be known. I can’t remember which character it was on in my first group as it’s kinda melee heavy. War, bard, monk, ranger in that one and I definitely noticed it at a point in that level up as well.
