Has there been any effort into looking at why clients hang so often when zoning?

Sorry, I'm afraid I can't give you a "good answer". Since our new server hardware is in a data center, I never got disconnected while zoning.

This must be due to packet loss between the server and your client, which is ISP and routing related proble. Also, if you have a wireless network at home, it might be the reason too.

I think Bront posted somewhere that what you can try is to do a /ipconfig flushdns in command prompt. It might help.

Thank you. This seemed to have worked.

I am going to take back the post about the flush working. I think it was coincidence because I am experiencing the same problems again. I do not experience this on other servers such as EZ.

Then unfortunately it's a problem that I posted above. :/

It was definitely a greater issue on this server. but since the server upgrade it has been much less frequent an occurrence. At least in my experience.

Might check into your client too. I had the same problem alot when i first started had to do clean install of client. That worked for a while but noticed when zoning 3 4 toons at once all or some would hang and/or crash. I switched to SOD client and Private Login Server and seen maybe the problem once twice in months
