Why the change to CoH?

Just curious on the reasoning behind changing the COTH spell to making it where you have to be in group.
Since the server has been released it was left untouched til now, almost two years later?
Were people abusing it?
Not trying to be a cry baby or anything just really curious.

some idiots were using it on people to annoy/inconvience them.

That was the reason behind the CoH nerf in the bazaar - there were a couple people who would CoH trader toons over to a different area entirely; to blue side, in one of the side halls was one I saw personally - If I knew who had done that, I would have reported them, which is something I don't normally do. Some things are just too far over the line to ignore, though.
That brings another question - does this mean the zones that had been nerfed before due to this be opened up again? Not stuff like Emp room in SSRA, or Xeg island, those have CoH limits for a good reason, but how about bazaar, etc? Since it's limited to group (soon raid), that answers the reason behind the original limitation.

I think instead of any limitations, it should pop up a yes/no box for you to be CoH'd and the caster of the spell. It may not be faster, but its makes more sense than limiting it, even though thats how its originally suppose to be

That would be a good idea like the Transolocate spell, how ever im not sure if they can create custom code to allow this or not.
My main reason for asking is simply for the use of cothing people over to recieve flags and what not from the nice people on the server who are sharing say fennin ro flags.
It makes it more of an annoyance to those players who want to be friendly as now they have to do invites to each person.
Again not complaining or trying to start up flames or drama just merely asking i think a very reasonable question.

A confirmation box - now there is a nice idea, if it can be coded. Perhaps steal the confirmation code from resurrection or translocate? Im no coder, dunno how easy that would be to do, but maybe our awsome dev team could look at it?

About chatbox confirmation:
That would be a solution.
That would be a pain for boxers.
Group / Raid invites only are imho the best solution if raid can be added to the actual changes.

Ninja Edit: typo correction.
PS Edit: I do not see any issue with having to invite prior to coh someone, even for FRO flag share.

As people have said, COTH was being used to grief other (Bazaar summoning, summoning players to a specific spot then training them, etc). As our to-do list dwindled down, this issue came up.
The easiest fix is what you see. CoTH has been group only on EQlive since the time of its release. So we adopted that view on it as well. After speaking with a few people and reading some of the responses, I am more than happy to allow it to be summon by raid also to make it easier for guilds as they progress.
We are not trying to make things annoying, or less fun. Simply put we are always trying to make things better overall for the entire server.

We had a pickup Fennin raid a little bit ago, and I must say, our experience with group level CoH was unpleasant, to say the least. This server is heavy on multiboxers (myself included),
and without even the benefit of guildchat to coordinate, it was a bit of a cluster; with players on a different toon when tells and invites were being sent. A major nuisance.
Confirmation boxes are something some players would like, others would not, it seems. If you think raid level CoH is the best way, thats fine with me. If you decide to use the confirmation boxes later, thats great too.
Big issue in my mind is going to raid level with the CoH.
Thank you guys for that.

I just fixed up the raid support into the code. Will go live with next code update.
