Not sure if this is anyway related, but last night while it was down, I tried to log my Necro on and he wasnt there anymore, however when I exited and reloaded the account he was back.

Magelo is independent from the game and login servers.
Maybe you clicked a different server at the server select screen? That would explain the blank character select window.

Logging in to see no toons on your account happens to everyone from time to time. Backing out and coming back works every time. Scary the first time, for sure...but nothing to worry about.
