Major Bug: Power of the Shadows - Triggering/Proccing Wrong Effect:

Currently, the spell Power of the Shadows (Shadow Knight, Level 70) spell is activating the incorrect proc/effect and I could not figure out why. From the database, we see this:



The above Proc is Strike of the Knight, which has Spell ID 9008; this is the normally intended proc. But for some reason when this spell is currently used ingame and the spell procs, it is activating Spell ID 9009 instead, which is a powerful group heal called Healing Command (which group heals 1500). Being that this spell procs a ton, it does a LOT of healing on the entire group. I could not figure out why it was activating Spell ID 9009 instead of 9008.

I actually only got the Power of the Shadows spell today (a friendly player that was clearing inside Kael was offering rotting spells to others in /ooc). I was thinking the latest patch today may of bugged the spell; but, after a little research I can see that this is most likely not the case.

The spell was created only 13 days ago and had a minor change to it 12 days ago. Has the spell been bugged since then and had nobody reported it?

While I don't know if Shadow Knights need the added survivability from the unintended group heal that the current Power of the Shadows has (since I don't have that much experience on my current Shadow Knight), but if you feel Shadow Knights need extra survivability it might be better to voice that opinion to try to get a real solution than to try to latch onto an unintended crutch.

Shame on all other SK! Definately a bug obviously and no idea why it would be caused

It was fun being able to actually tank stuff while it lasted. oh well.

what are the chances of fixing soul abrasion to work for shroud of discord to replace this?

all that's necessary is adding "Drain Spirit" to the list of spells affected by it.

Is this still an issue? can't test until later tonight.

Right now the online database shows Power of the Shadows is suppose to activate Epic Power (SID 8457). I just wish to point out the most recent spell file which we downloaded online today (6-30-2010) does not seem to currently correspond to the online database, and it still shows Power of the Shadows is suppose to activate Strike of the Knight (SID 9008).

But this shouldn't affect the functionality of the spell I don't think (only the text display for the client), as long as the server has the correct spell file. But I still thought it would be good idea to point out either way.

I just wish to point out the most recent spell file which we downloaded online today (6-30-2010) does not seem to currently correspond to the online database, and it still shows Power of the Shadows is suppose to activate Strike of the Knight (SID 9008).

Ack! The bug is a lot worse now since the reboot 5 minutes ago!

Instead of it proccing Epic Power (SID 8457) like it's suppose to, it's proccing the next SID number up again: Powerful Heal (SID 8458), a +10000 HEAL!
