The developers here at The Hidden Forest have been deep in discussion for awhile now talking about different aspects of the server and it's overall health. While we, and hopefully all of you, agree that The Hidden Forest is one of the best Everquest Emulated servers; there is always room for improvement.
With that being said, one of the key discussion points was the necessity for donation gear to progress. This has been a heated topic for quite awhile now and has caused some unrest before amongst the ranks of The Defenders of the Forest (You all). After a lengthy discussion by the developers, we have decided to tone down some of the content for a more healthy progression where donation items no longer feel like a necessity. Sure they will aid in the speed at which players can progress and enjoy the abundant content found here on The Hidden Forest, but we do not want the donation system to feel like it is mandatory. Our donation system was designed to offer those who wish give something back to the server an opportunity to do just that, not a method of the only progression available.
So, long-winded post down, here are the first set of changes that have gone live as of today:
Plane of Air:
Average Boss Min Dmg: 50% reduction
Average Boss Max Dmg: 20% reduction
Plane of Fear:
Average Boss Min Dmg: 30% reduction
Average Boss Max Dmg: 5% reduction
Veeshan's Peak:
Average Boss Min Dmg: 35% reduction
Average Boss Max Dmg: 5% reduction
Plane of Tactics:
Average Boss Min Dmg: 37% reduction
Average Boss Max Dmg: 20% reduction
These changes make the average minimum damage increase per zone (not necessarily tier) approximately 15% and the average max damage increase approximately 20%. A much smoother progression curve then the averages were before (randomly jumping between 18-41%). Note also, that these are just the first set of changes. Pending feedback and play performance, we will be working on more adjustments over the next couple weeks.
If you have suggestions, comments, complaints, please feel free to post them in this discussion post: viewtopic.php?f=126&t=11833 While the developers have our own "roundtable" going on, we will keep a close eye and interaction with this post as to bring our community the best services that we can.
As always, Enjoy Your Stay!
