Looking for some help to troubleshoot some pc issues I'm experiencing when I try to run a 3rd group of toons. I'll post some info then we can post it here or take it to PM's if necessary. I've got a book of custom title I'll give to the person who helps the most

I've got a good pc set up. I run 2 groups with no performance issues, other than the occasional blank screen when I try to boot them all up at the same time. I use MQ2, and innerspace. I have made all of the suggested changes to improve pc performance while boxing. Globaltxt edit, stick figures, etc. 2 groups run fine, but as soon as I start adding a few more characters my pc screeches to a halt. I've used open hardware monitor to look for any bottlenecks, but don't really see anything that stands out.

Your hardware specs look like they're more than enough for the task, so that's good.

Looking at your output from OpenHardwareMonitor: your memory numbers, literally, do not add up. I'm confused by them.

8.24 + 7.76 = 16 GB != 48.41 GB

But 16 GB is more than enough to do what you want to do.

Here's what I'd like to see:

[1] Your eqclient.ini output (if you use two different EQ folders, then I'd like to see all of them) in a [ code ] tags.
[2] A snapshot of Task Manager or Performance Monitor showing how much CPU and RAM each client is using. Basically I'd like to see what I posted here: viewtopic.php?p=69869#p69869
[3] What client are you playing on?

I'm also curious to know how your 3rd party stuff interacts with one another. Perhaps try one without the other, for testing purposes.

2) I tried to get a screenshot of the task manager, but pc just gets so slow I can't even do that. This is with my bots loaded, couldn't get the master character to load b/c of lag. Also, 5 chars were still at the char select screen.

3) I'm currently using the underfoot client. I recently tried SOD but realized it wouldn't work with stick figures, and for some reason I couldn't get MQ2 to work with it. Might at least give it another shot and see what happens.

The only interesting thing that I see out of your .ini files is the CPUAffinity settings. The bot ini rotates between threads 0-3 and the main ini rotates between thread 0-1 but is also missing CPUAffinity entries. For instance it goes CPUAffinity1-7 and then jumps up to 11.

None of that *should* even matter though. You're playing one character on the high settings ini and then the other 17 on the low settings one, right?

Regardless, I'd like for you to try to replicate my play environment and see if things fare better:

[1] Back up your eqclient.ini settings, and then try out mine (remember to set to read only before you start any clients):

You will see higher memory usage, but you still stay under your 16GB limit.
[2] Next I would open Task Manager and Open Hardware Monitor prior to kicking off EQ clients. I noticed that my Task Manager showed different CPU utilization than Open Hardware Monitor. Can't be sure which one is a better representation of usage. Here is the discrepancy for your reference:

[3] Next I would start MQ2 but not Innerspace (for now) and log in your main only, using my eqclient.ini settings.
[4] Next I would make sure MQ2FPS plugin is loaded on your main.
[5] Next I would log in the other 17 clients. Perhaps a couple at a time until they're all in? Although I can usually kick off 18 at once with few problems. Expect super high CPU usage while they log in. If you're using Windows 8, then I'd scope out the Resource Monitor to see how the load is being balanced across your 4 cores.
[6] See if this is any better. I'm hoping it's just your CPUAffinity settings. If you look at my eqclient.ini, I deleted all CPUAffinity settings after some tests showed better results without them.

Good luck! I'd still like to see that screen shot if you can get it.

Thanks again Noren! Using your ini file did help, and I'm able to run smoothly, without innerspace. I think innerspace was doing some crazy things to my ini file, which was causing some of the issues without innerspace. That being said, for w/e reason when I pass the 12 character threshold with innerspace it's still pretty much unusable. Tried reinstalling etc with no luck. Since I've narrowed it down to that i'll head over to the lavishsoft boards and see if I can trouble shoot it. Unless someone has a good alternative to innerspace they would like to suggest. Enjoy being able to click as opposed to alt tabbing myself to death! Screenshot below is with the updated ini file, and innerspace. Still doesn't appear to be anything unusual!

Got ISBoxer straightened out and its running smoothly! If anyone ever has questions on it let me know and I'll try and share what I learned. Thanks again Noren!
