question on MQ window

Hi all
Just got a new machine, and in the process of setting everything up.
After firing up the program(EQ) in my MQ window, I get Connection closed scrolling by hundreds of times.
I cannot remember what this is. I think it has something to do with my EQBC server.
Like I said, new machine, with different IP address in my network

Are you running EQBCServer first? Check your eqbc.ini in your macroquest folder and it will tell you what server IP/port it is trying to connect to. If you have/had it running locally on the same machine, it should just have 127.0.0.1 for the server IP since loopback is all you need (and will work no matter what machine you copy the folder to as long as you start eqbcserver)

Hi Nil
I changed the IP to 127.0.0.1
Fired up the program. Still the same scrolling "Connection closed"

Anymore thoughts?

I haven't run eqbcserver locally in a long time, I run it as a service on my home server, but I want to confirm again, you are opening eqbcserver.exe before you start mq and eq?

It should have a window that stays open that says something like
eqbcs (eq box chat server) 1.2.v1
waiting for connections on port: 2112...

Hmm, okay I see your confusion. Yes the EQBC server window is open and works like it is supposed to.
The issue though is not with that. The issue is within EQ itself in the MQ window.
This is the window that I normally type to start my macros or what not.
That is where I am seeing the scrolling same words. When I try to type a command. Those commands as well
as the response just zoom right on by.

PS
Oh and it also does it on another machine that I have fired up too.

post a screenshot of the eqbcserver window and the exact error from your mq2 window. If the ip and port are matching it should be connecting. One thing you might try is make sure you are running both mq and eqbcserver as admin.

So in the EQBC screenshot, it shows a connection, but not disconnect. Are you running any macros?
if on your character you do /bccmd quit does the spam end?

When I type that command it still scrolls, but I can see a message fly by that states Connection closed you can now disconnect mq2

And then it continues scrolling Connection Closed

Is this a New download of MQ2? Could try a fresh download then move you ini files if it works.
