MQ2Melee

I'm using MQ2 compiles classic on Titanium client.

I made a warrior toon (got a cleric) and I'm trying to make him attack correctly, which means :
- stick on target (it works fine)
- attack target (works fine too)
- taunt, kick, everything a tank should do to keep aggro (not working at all)

I try to use MQ2Melee plugin (v4.808), load it, configure it (aggro=on, taunt=on, kick=true, etc...), everything looks fine.

BUT, when I throw my warrior toon on a mob (/target, /stick, /killthis), no taunt, no kick, just attack.

Am I doing something wrong ?

for my guy i just use /target /attack and it works fine. for some reason i could never get /killthis to work; no clue if that has to do with me using uf client or not tho

I'm using UF and have no problems with MQ2Melee or the /killthis command. I'm not sure if I can name locations that offer MQ, so I don't really know how to phrase this, but if you're using the "standard" compile everything should work fine as long as you have your MQ2Melee settings set accordingly. Don't forget to /melee save, etc.

With /killthis make sure you actually supply the target you want your boxes to assist you on.

Using the killthis command is more aimed at dps classes, it's never really "worked" properly as far as combat skills are concerned. Instead, use something else, like /moveto id ${Target.ID} in conjuntion with /assist. mq2melee will auto /stick and if they're dps and not being hit, they'll move around behind the mob.

Hope this helps, anymore questions, just ask.

I turned mq2melee plugin last night in Kedge. It kept LDing one of the tunes, during the Estrella of Gloomwater mermaid fights, which made it a bit bumpy. Finally had a friend tell me how to turn it off (/melee off). I tried to turn it on on the ranger and bard only, but for some reason I did not think it worked. I think i need some commands, because my tank was sticking to the mob too much.

If I did not have to pull spawn to camp for the middle mermaid fight Priestess Auraia, and I did not go LD it would be a nice option.

Also, if I am using mq2melee how does one keep some of the tunes ranged. For example if I just want the tank and bard attack the mob, and ranger and wizard range dps.

I heard there is a mq2twist plugin also. Any ideas appreciated, Thanks! :D

PS - sometimes I like keeping attack on during Enrage, for extra procs I mean. I know its a bad habit, and on a really tough fight I would turn it off. I did enjoy that it kicked for me, hate kicking, and taunting, it is hard on my wrists - hehe.

To configure your mq2melee plugin, type /melee and it'll give you a list of things on or off.
to turn something off type it out. I.E. taunt=0 taunt=off either of those will work. There should be a bow command in there for ranger, though I don't play ranger so I'm not sure how effective it is.

As to turning it off per account, I'll have to look into that, I think you can but I'm not exactly sure how.

A tip for using mq2melee with ranged, don't tell them to assist. Use target id ${Target.ID} instead for them, it makes it much easier.

And yes there is mq2twist, it's a great plugin that works just like melody but has smart code in it, that means that if a song fails, it starts the cycle back up where it died, not stop the whole twist cycle.
To use mq2twist, you run it just like melody,

Code: Select all

Example: /twist 1 2 3 4

There's some other commands that you should know though, as when you start a twist, it will not stop even if you stop singing, it'll just start again. /stoptwist and /pausetwist
bards epics are really awesome clicks, you need to stop or pause the twist to use them though.

Think that was everything, I'll post back when I've looked into turning off mq2melee per account.

EDIT: I did not find a way to turn it off per account, but I did find the next best thing.

Code: Select all

/melee melee=0
/melee bow=1

I'm not sure the implications of using this however. Make sure you set it up correctly, login the toon you want, type command, log out, to make sure the .ini file saved properly.

the true definition of AFK macroing ? your willing to play only your cleric and use your war as a pet ?

I'm willing to use it as a war bot.

I'm a cleric, I send in battle my war and heal him if needed, I don't see AFK macroing here.

Like everything, you can't prepare for every eventuality with macros. MQ2Melee happens to be as big of a detriment as it is boon sometimes. Rooted mobs are the bane of mq2melee as it can't tell a mob is rooted, actually it's pretty funny watching your agropri class spaz out and eventually crash because it can't hold agro on a rooted mob. Every plugin with MQ2 has it's pros, and a lot of cons.

As to it being afk macroing, You still need a user to tell the warrior to attack, therefor it can't be considered "afk" macroing.
