[Fixed] NPC's push when they hit

Zone: Tested in Sebilis and Veeshans Peak

Nature of Bug:
I cleared VP last night on test and I noticed my tank was getting pushed around as he was getting hit and it was annoying. I didnt try to pull the guardians away from Vulak, I just ran in and fought them all at once. My tank kept getting pushed out of position and had to keep repositioning because Vulak is rooted and was eating my other party members.

I went to Sebilis to see if I could reproduce, I ran in and grabbed as many frogs as I could and let them beat on me. It's easy to see them push you around in sebilis due to the patterns on the floor. They have to be able to hit you in order to push you so the higher level the mob the better, but a ton of green frogs in sebilis was sufficient to see the pushing.

I logged into live and did the same test in sebilis and you dont get moved one pixel while they are beating on you.

This doesnt seem game breaking but it is different from live and it's really annoying, especially if you are fighting rooted mobs, it's very deadly.

It's a new feature of the code. On EQLive it's known as Melee push that happens whenever you get hit or you commit a hit on a npc.

What we can do is this: we will throw up a poll in the thread with some options. Poll will run until we close down the beta testing and you may revote in case your opinion changes over time.

My characters on test are old and not geared out enough to fight Hatchet in DKS2 else I'd test this push affect with that fight.

I dont know exactly the mechanics of that fight - the wiki says if you move you get a dot (http://www.thehiddenforest.org/wiki/ind ... e_Torturer). I never noticed a dot, it's an instant damage thing in my experience, and it is significant. With my tank I run up to Hatchet, jump behind him to face him away from the pets, and I never move again. Even with my tank not moving, there always seems to be a 50/50 chance that someone in my party gets insta gibbed by some mystery affect. My pet users and healers are not moving at all yet sometimes they get hit with a 1 shot DD or something that sends them to their zone in spot (no it's not the adds).

Anyway I just cant see this fight working with any kind of pushback, especially considering how many npc's are beating on the tank by the end of the fight.

As a lifetime magician on live I hated melee push cause ignorant melee blamed my poor pets. Down with push

Not sure what the push adds to the game other than a minor annoyance. I could live without it.

Yeah, seems to be too many possible issues (players go through walls, or npcs go through walls). Could live without too.

Pushing mobs was early eq and later in live they even took it out for the most part. I vote no push with this server encouraging boxing and allowing mq all new strats will be pull to a corner and tank it.
