Second team, last spot… what would you do?

So I’ve been slowly making “alts” in preparation of leveling a second group for down the road when I might need them.

Stuck on what my last spot should be.

1st group is:

War, clr, ranger, bard, shaman, monk

2nd group:

Sk, clr, chanter, mage, rogue, ??

I was leaning back up healer in case but I don’t really want a second shaman and Druid seems meh.

Bard seems kinda obvious but do I really need two? Should I just throw a wizard in there to just drop bombs?


Planning on probably doing some main group swapping out once I get them up and go SK main tank and replace the monk with something. Possibly the ranger.

All non donor (for now, don’t wanna commit yet)… who’d fit that last spot to best round out the whole gang? Planning on trying out the raid content when I get there and gear/AA’s.

First, I have a soft spot for rangers, but, they are soft spots themselves, so I'd drop it but for those nostalgic moments. Next, never drop the monk. Their DPS is killer as they progress. I learned this the hard way, but, now I have 3 solid group leaders in my SK, War, and Monk.

Having said that, a beastlord or zerker might be good additions, one or both. I'm sure someone can break down the game mechanics for you, but for me, I just play what sounds fun at the moment. I usually run with a mage in each group, but the benefit of that is just the coh for me. Now that all my toons have the orb of the crimson bull I can coh with any of them.

Anyway, this is a ramble, but maybe it's a little helpful?

I don't like bard in team, their support is too weak and their dps is close to 0
I would do a zerker as it s a crazy dps and the twin proc will help the group or a bestlord for the proc buffs.

I might do a zerker for the ranger then. Maybe my monk just isn’t geared enough yet. I’m still not even 70 on my main group. Just hit the 55 zones tonight.

I had read that the bard wasn’ta great addition somewhere else also and a chanter would add all the utility, but better.

I really enjoyed how much the mage just rolled things, zerker would mean less ini file editing as I level too, over Beast it another caster.

Zerkers are just plain ridiculous DPS, can never go wrong. That being said, get yourself a good bow and AA buildout on a ranger and they can make pew pew dps like a bomb. When parsing my DPS out, using discs my ranger routinely out damages my zerker. Rogue and Monk still win the crown here but rangers have decent backup heal options later on as well - and hey, if someone needs to absorb a deathtouch then rangers were designed for this!

Just be careful how you angle your fights with ranger, they like to dive off of stuff to get a good shot.
