The Hidden Forest

I tried searching but can't find anything that really answers my question... Is dire charm (without donor) useful in tier 7/8? Are there any mobs that are DC'able that are worthwhile to bother with? Trying to decide on whether I should spend the AA's or not....or even potentially donate for the weapon if anyone thinks it would be worthwhile. Thanks for your input.

Late response.. but.. Even with the donator weapon, which I have on my enc, most mobs still cannot be charmed in tier 7/8.. I tried tons of mobs with the dire charm donator weapon in HoH, and the only one it landed on was the small sized blue death cats.. It may work on a armor that spawns the 2 little adds every now and then, havnt tried those.. but the cat kind of sucks cuz it stops to try to cast malo all the time.

It's a nice weapon, but im thinking im going to trade it in permanently for the group buff one instead. the dire charm AA isn't going to be useful at all.. stuff like the blue froggys / golems in sol ro tower, etc.. but its all few and far between. You'll end up getting the AA anyway eventually as you continue to gain experience with your enchanter.. putting it to good use is a larger challenge than spending what?.. 9 aa?

You'll probably need the weapon + the robe to charm anything in t7/8 that's 1/4 as useful as a normal pet. My buddy's enc has the robe, but I haven't logged it in to try and charm anything that high. Personally, I've never seen another enchanter charm anything at all. The class is essentially a debuff bot.

Hmm, so Rude... what you're alluding to interests me.. Are you saying that mobs that normally give the message, "This mob cannot be charmed".. (or something close to that - don't remember the exact wording) - on trash mobs in HoH can actually be charmed if you have the enchanter donor BP?..

I know that the donor enchanter BP has a focus effect that let's you "peirce mob's charm resistance by 100%"... but didnt think it would reverse the mobs that specifically tell you "this mob cannot be charmed"..

If that's the case, I may have to rearrange the order in which I plan on outfitting my DPS'ers with donor gear Little by little ! hehe..

Anyone else have any specifics on this?

Thanks Ikaf, that helped. Doesn't seem like that post really went anywhere or had any changes on the ENC BP though .. at least not yet.. I'm all about changing it since it's mostly useless as it stands. not bad for that 3.0 epic fight in dragon necropolis though.

I can also see that I blatantly ripped off your signature style in hindsight. Sorry about that ;p
