Can I play on thie server with a mac?

Hey everyone, I just heard about this whole eqemu thing, and (as a huge eq fan) I think it is cool and refreshing. I just registered and I had some questions that I wanted answered before I went out and bought the SoD expansion to play this server. I am going to college next year, and I just purchased a really nice mac book pro. Can I still run this server on a Mac book? If so, are the directions any different than the ones already posted on the forum to get the server working?

Not sure what server you mean. Would you like to run your own server or play on our server?
If you would like to play on THF, yes, it's possible. I myself played on a MacBook for a while. You'll need a Windows installation paralell to Mac OS tho, since EQ cleints suported by eqemu are only windows versions (Titanium, SoF or SoD) as far as I know.

If you would like to run your own server, same deal, you'll need windows.

Hi again, to answer your question I would like to play on the THF server specifically. What do you mean by "Windows installation paralell to Mac OS" ? Im kinda a newb to programming, but if you could explain how to set it up in laymans terms that would be great.

BootCamp - google it

Lets you install Windows on any current Mac (or any of them with an Intel processor) and you just hold down option when you turn on the macbook and select OSX or Windows.

I have a Mac because of work but, being a gamer, I have had Windows on my Mac since BootCamp was first released.

Lilu, how was the performance playing through Parallels? I have the early version that didn't pass 3D so have not tried any gaming on it.

It is about as non-technical as it can get if you use Bootcamp, cptnord. It's all wizzards and clicks...no DOS prompts or terminal sessions.

Basically, you go into your Utilities folder, click BootCamp Assistant, click a few buttons and it partitions your HD for you and tells you to insert your Windows CD and reboot. At that point you install Windows and pop in your Apple OSX CD. One round of update downloads using Apple Update (in Windows) and you are ready to install your games.

The performance was great, I used a WinXP installation, and was able to 2 box on it. It's an older MacBook, so the gfc card was the backdraw, but other than that, the performance was more than enough
