Looking for some feedbacks of people playing on a mac.
I'm gonna buy an Imac 27 core i3 8 gig ram.
I want to know what are you guys experiences with playing on a mac , do you use paralells or run a different windows instal on yur mac just to play eq.
also , how many char can you box w/o getting much lag.
Gonna buy this comp for photographia and stuff , but if I can play some eq on it , it's a plus
Thanks

I would use boot camp instead of parallels. With parallels you'll be running your whole instance of Mac OS along with a virtual load of Windows and whatever programs you have running in either. Only downside of boot camp is having to reboot to choose Windows or Mac OS.

Bootcamp is the way to go imho.
I had an iMac 27" Dual Core with 4 GB RAM running Bootcamp and I was able to run 3 instances of EQ with no problem. A fourth instance made it unplayable.
Note that I didn't play with the iMac too much as I have other systems, so my experience might differ.

Bootcamp.
15 toons (lowest graphic options, windowed mode) - Works fine.

Hi, I've just installed THF inside a Wineskin wrapper and it seems to work very well on my 2011 iMac (i5, 8 Gigs, Radeon 6770M, OS X 10.7.3).
I've used
Wineskin v2.5 with the latest engine (WS8Wine1.4-rc2), installed EQ Titanium and the required THF custom files directly from the Wineskin wrapper and set the Screen Options as
Rootless (windowed) | normal windows. I've also changed the game resolution editing the
eqclient.ini text file (WindowedWidth=1600 | WindowedHeight=1200) and tested all the advanced video settings through the in-game
Options menu.
Everything seems (I've not really played yet) to work pretty well. Turning on the shadows may kill the frame-rate but all the other graphic settings work without issues.
The game also works with
WindowedMode=TRUE in the
eqclient.ini and
Rootless (windowed) | Virtual desktop at ... in Wineskin ... I will try to experiment a bit with all these settings in the next few days.
You can also follow the instructions posted in the Project 1999 forum:
hereHope it helps (sorry for my rusty English).
