Functional EQ client for THF

Wasn't sure where to post this, but I was curious if I download the current Steam version of Everquest if it will work on THF without fixes? I'm sure I can get a different version of the game but this solution for me would by far be the easiest. Thanks in advance and looking forward to returning soon!

Edit: I know I'd be downloading the custom content anyway just to be clear, wasn't sure how compatible the newest version of EQ would work with the server.

Currently the Steam version is not compatible. I will be working on upgrading our code soon. I've been MIA for awhile due to personal reasons, but just returned =)

I have a list of things to attend to first, but once those are concluded, updating the code is the first major thing i will be doing. As for a time frame, right now I can't give one. I would like to say a month, but you never know what can happen.

Thank you sir for the estimate, hopefully by then I will have this issue sorted! In the mean time if anyone has a simpler solution for me feel free to post it here, as I long to play on THF as soon as humanly possible!

Edit: If it wasn't clear what I meant by solution, I'm trying to find a way to get a functional EQ client that will work on THF :D

I am new to the Hidden Forest and am excited to experience it but I have run into some complications. I picked up the SoD download at amazon for 20 bucks because I didn't feel like 'finding it' in other ways. This plan may have backfired on me. After downloading and installing EQ SoD I check my EQ file and I don't have but 1 file folder. I dont have a UI folder, a eqhost file (like im supposed to), and other folders. I watched the youtube how-to video and noticed he had like 6 or 7 folders.

I'm assuming those files would show up if i patched but the directions for THF says not to patch, suggestions?

Find another client to download? anybody send me the files I need? Thanks for the advice or help. Just looking to join the community.

I don't know what the policy here is about 'sharing' and I haven't taken the time to look it up atm. For what I have been able to find, regarding EQ clients that is... is that the Underfoot Client that I bought from Steam to join the EQEMU community at large, worked. It worked here as well, but there were some small issues. After trying to obtain other clients (legally that is) I found that to be easier said than done. I finally resorted to downloading SOD via torrent. I would have been happy to buy a legal copy if one were available. No such beast exists, however.

I would be willing to offer advice on other means of acquiring a client if it isn't prohibited here. If it is, I am sure I will hear about it shortly...

Best of luck
R
