OK i have a problem has been going on for last 3 or so days every time i try and log in i get:

"error 1017: cannot log in to the everquest server. you may need to re-run the update patch. repeatedly seeing this message indicates a loss of connectivity to the patch server. this is usually temporary."

prior to selecting server and clicking play once server is selected and play has been clicked the screen goes to load and bounces back to log in. i haven't changed anything or done any different and it had been working just fine up till then any suggestions on how to get this working again.

note i have tried deleting all my Sony folder and reloading from scratch and it didn't work.

make sure you have your eqhost file changed to the correct and current log in...its what sounds to be your problem

Seems like I checked it when I reinstalled files. It looked to be the same as before if someone wouldn't mind posting It for me I'll check it again when I get home to make sure.

ok tried updating that now instead of getting patch server error it just pretends its gonna let me in the server then bounces back to login screen

ooop spoke to soon tryed it agin after that got same patch server error any other suggestions heres what i have tryed so far. have uninstalled reinstalled and set back up have updated server list have updated spell files have the path set on eq shortcut to C:\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe patchme -w like the instructions said to.

Use this guide - it works and I've used it at least twice. I would suggest completely uninstalling and reinstalling EQ before you do.

Back when they they did the LS change over i remember seeing a post to change your eqhost file to:

[LoginServer]
Host=login.eqemulator.net:5998

Both this one and the one Koeril posted work but iirc this was the new suggested one.

I am connecting to:

Host=new.eqemulator.net:5998

thanks for help everyone i managed after redoing everything again and resetting my router modem and pc to once again obtain connection to server.
