New Enchanter Changes

With the boost to the mana regen on this buff is there going to be a simular upgrade to Necro lich line?

~edit on lookin at our Dark Possession I see it's still decent... 65 mana at cost of 85 hps (is this spell already custom?) Just kinda assumed that if you double the buff it would surely catch up to our regen and it's at a cost...... guess i just didn't realize how much better lich is :)

No its not custom yet - i was under the impression that Necs don't have mana issues. If that's not the case we can improve this a bit.

I personally don't have many issues... though with changes to DoTs I'll be abusing my mana bar more than ever.(btw I'll try to parse some with the new DoTs soon) My only initial concern was in the fact that the insaine mana regen is one of the appeals to necros and if we were to allow everyone else to catch up it wouldn't be as much of a defining class attribute. Generally(in live) besides laying around FD one of the necro's big roles in large scale combat was always being the "mana battery" for our less gifted friends in the realms of mana regen. All the primary healers in my guild had a "Pump me please" hotkey ready for when they needed my lovins ;)

Not to mention that since we DO pay a cost for our regen, ie the hp drain, it should have some appeal or necros will just sidleline the spell in favor of the chanter buff for the additional mana/stat increases/etc.

Yea understood - although im sure you don't prefer to be the mana battery for someone else. I always thought that was the worst concept ever - makes your mana worth less than someone else's mana.

I'll ramp this a bit up.

It's always nice to feel needed even if it's just as a cleric mana battery. :mrgreen:

I so do not miss being mana battery on those 40+ min fights on LIVE :lol:
We are currently looking into possibility of restructuring necro's dots, so hopefully necros will have some OTHER edge on the raids and otherwise ;)

Yeah, as more encounters where a controled dps approach vs an all out burn came into play(stuff with add spawns/effects at certain %s) DoTs almost became outlawed in live raids hehe. In those kind of fights aside from pet dps/our not so impressive DDs/ and FD at the ready in case of trouble or somethin really mana pump was about the only function. =) It's by no means an exciting time but I can remember a few times a necro just "layin around" being the difference between a wipe and a successful recovery.

imo theres only 1 way to get people to play enchanters on this server and that is to remove the buff bot and make raid zones where enchanters are needed to mez (bosses that spawn adds every %). If this wont happen i dont think enchanters will get played as a main class.

The buff bot really kills it for buffing classes. being able to get most of the buffs u need (like C#) for free really makes enchanters worthless and on the live servers they were seeked out for 2 reason. 1 to buff, 2 to mez in high lvl raids and slow if there was no shaman in the raid.

So without enchanters being seeked out for C (this server has quite few casters already)
or making raid zone bosses trigger adds that u need a plan for besides the usual tank and spank. I dont see anyone making an enchanter main.

Have only played up to Pofire lvl bosses in my time on this server i have seen 1 boss that a enchanter would help on and that was frogernaught and im not even sure if there mez would work on the adds becuz nukes wouldent work on them.

Its simple really make enchanters needed for the C buff or make them needed for raids.

I completely agre with you with the mez part.

I kinda disagree with you about the buff bot part. I like it so does everyone. What is needed (but I think this has been addressed recently) is giving chanties a mana regen spell much better than the one provided by Sune. Maybe give it a short duration like 30 min in order not to have the enchanters relegated to buff bots. Having said that, what if I create a chanty bot, get him to buff me, release him to get my regular bot out?
