Question to Boxers

Out of curiosity to those that currently box past T6 content with ~12 or more chars.

I assume you guys run with 2 tanks , 1 cleric per group and like 2 bards ?

Cause my current setup is as following:
Pal, Brd, Clr, Shm, Ench, Dru, Mage, Wiz , Rog and Ranger
I used 10 in the past in case i needed to add to each group a cleric bot for fights that dispelled allot like Sleeper.
Leveled since i am back a Necro and Bst and was thinking to add more.
The only problem i currently have is i am just not sure if i need to add a 2nd tank however if i remember right DSK had some fights that needed more than one tank.

I would recommend using 2 tanks if you want to solo box DSK without using a heavily donored tank.

Ok getting slowly done with finishing the set up/tweaks to my 12 box set up, and working now on possible adding a 3rd group or replacing some chars if my comp can't handle it.

Anyway so far i got every class besides SK/War/Mnk and working on a Zerker atm, however when it comes to tank picking i am undecided and tempted to pick a 2nd Pal up due to easy AE agro + group healing, however on the other hand i think i would be better off with a War but not quite sure about it.

Since i am not sure about all the changes to War/SK could someone maybe try to give me a brief pro/con between War/SK pretty please?

Also in regards of adding more chars thinking about :
2 more Clerics (brings me up to 3)
1 Monk (since i don't have it yet)
1 Bard (brings me up to 2)
1 Zerker ( currently lvling)
1 Tank (brings me up to 2)

However i am tempted to switch that group a bit up and only add 1 cleric (change other to Wiz or Rog) and change Monk and Bard too to either Wiz or Rog.

I box:

1 SK
3 wizards
1 ench
1 necro
1 mage
1 bard
2 druids
1 shaman
1 cleric

There isn't anything in the game I can't box outside of Tier 9

If I could start over, right now, I would replace the wizards with rogues or berserkers. When I made my lineup wizards were top DPS, but they have been heavily nerfed since. If I started a third group it would be:

1 bard
1 4 rogues
1 warrior

Ench, mage, necro supply all of the debuffs I could possibly ask for. That would be a total of 7 melee dps meaning my DPS would be insane. Warriors are currently the top tank due to the fact discs are currently broken, also the warrior BP brings thier aoe aggro > SK/Pal. If you don't plan on donating, I would go 2x SK. Why? they have amazing aoe aggro and keep themselves up pretty well. If you play 3 groups, having 2 tanks would be helpful.

As I agree with what Melk said melee rule atm though I <3 my wizys and put a lot of time and money into them I just made a 3rd group of melee hehe

As for 2 tanks it's worth it if you want to try and solo content but 2 sk IDK IMO paly, war. War. for the discs and paly for the grp heals and grp cures for paly ae agro is just as good as sk if not better because of group heals.

Question to Melkor about dumping the wizards. Do the melee-immune bosses ever stop? My current party right now just makes me avoid them at all costs, I'll be starting a second party soon and I was thinking of making 3 wizards just to kill some of these bosses. So far I've run into:

Zlexak - ToV
Ne'Lukr - Stillmoon
Sol Ro - Sol Ro's Tower

I was extremely disappointed to finish my sol ro key last night just to find out I couldn't attack him

As far as I know you listed the only ones except one of the protectors in Vp iirc.

There are very few bosses that are invulnerable to melee but since new content gets released every now and then and you never know what kind of crazy stuff Vaion is going to pull, it's always good to put your eggs in different baskets. Melee DPS, spell DPS, etc :)

And I think the ones you mentioned are the only ones in game that are invulnerable to melee.

Sol ro is melee invuln? Good to know. Done with that zone now :)

I'm running 11, thinking of changing it up some though. Currently this is my group makeup

Warrior
Cleric
Bard
Necro
Necro
Mage

SK
Shaman
Rogue
Necro
Wizard
+ My son's Monk

My shaman cant keep up with the heals in heavy AE fights, so going to keep him around for buffs and drop the Wizard for another Cleric, and probably level another Bard.

This will give me 1 bard per group, 1 tank per group, 1 cleric per group

So a makeup of:

Tank
Cleric
Bard
Necro
Mage
Rogue

Tank
Cleric
Bard
Necro
Necro
Shaman

I like pet classes. They will actually stack on top of each other, where I've always had trouble with melee classes bouncing around behind a mob, then they get in front, get riposted and I have to heal them... annoying buggers.

I also have yet to have my rogue out dps my mage or necro(s), probably because my rogue is only tier 6.

I'm currently starting Tier 7. I can kill the first mini and have gotten to the second phase of the first boss (the enraged guy) with just 1 tank, using 1 group. I can probably take him pretty easily with my group makeup if I brought the entire raid. Redfang has me worried some, but its Koritz that has me worried the most

I'm most likely going to get the Donor Warrior BP, I'm just not sure how much of a help it will be.

Well i donated back than wich got me Pal/Clr/Ench donor + got CoH/FD Jewelery on my Paladin so my Paly is bit in semi donor gear , however will plan to donor more if my money allows it(will probably go than for Pal chest and other things for my Paladin).

Ae agro i wasn't worried cause True command line is more or less the Key spell for Paladins wich is one or maybe even the best AE threat/dmg/heal you could wish for (if it doesn't resist).
The question why SK or War was more aimed towards what does SK would bring to a group/raid utility/buff wise, while i assume War has compare to Knights the Disc advantage.

Ya that what i am aiming currently for i know i had back than problems with some under T6 content and CT while tanking with my Pal so kinda hope that if i gear the war once lvled and geared in VP i can tackle those issues of my "it's bothering me" list:)
