Shadowhaven / Patch Notes

**Edited to add poll**

Great you listened about the kill task for the Fordel Gem. Shame it got lost in translation/that'll teach them to moan revenge attack.

You still need to kill 4 x 50 unique mobs, then 4 x 150 unique mobs and all the boss's. Then the 5000 mobs. If I still logged in I would be pi$$ed that I wasted all that time maxing it for it to be nerfed, but instead I'm going to shrug and say Meh.

1 step forwards, 2 giant leaps back.

Please remember people leave when it is no longer fun/rewarding. Don't make it into EZ server. Don't make it into P1999. Make it into THF

Yes I lurk.

I was surprised to see the change myself. It took a long time to kill all those mobs even pulling 25 at a time, its mindless killing but I stuck it out based on the stats of the original.

As it stands now I wouldn't bother wasting my time with the quest when there are so many other readily available augs with similar stats that take 1/10th of the time to acquire.
They may not require the same level of gear but by the time you kill 5k or 10k snakes you have had plenty of time to gear up past Kael / Shadowhaven level armor even just through the bazaar.

Fordel Gem received approximately 25% reduction in stats to compensate for the 50% reduction in kills required to attain max stats.

Surely you are only changing it for those that haven't already killed thousands and spent hours working to max the gem right??

Those of us that grinded out the thousands of kills to max out the stats are now punished for doing so. We knew it was going to take a long time to get it, but it was an achievement.

We are learning, albeit slowly, that all you need to do is wait a little while & it will get easier....Autobot (Some of us had to get the drops only from the named), POFear gloves (I never got a refund on the 1500 I had to spend to get all of my toons a pair), etc, etc

So to ease the crowd...

What do you all as a community want done with this quest? What do you feel would be worth the time/investment? And how much an investment are you willing to put into such an item?

The intent behind the original augment was to make a powerful aug (350HP/Mana) that could be obtained by lower end players (lvl 70 group zone) for a tedious and long grind of mobs. Typically 350HP/Mana augs are not available until much later in the raiding tiers and that is why the kills required was set at 10k.

However, if you all feel that it is too much of a grind, we can and will respect that and can make some adjustments. However, remember that the risk vs reward will have to be proportional. We will not offer a 350HP/Mana augment from a level 70 group zone for simply killing 100 mobs. (example)

So post what you all feel is the path best chosen with this type of item. The Devs are here to give you all the best play experience that we can, and if we need to reevaluate some items/content, we are more than willing to do so as long as the suggestions are within means.

ps. additionally, all of your kills in the zone count towards the counter, even if you do not have the gem/quest yet. So when you have to kill the 4x50 and 4x150 mobs, all 1000 of those count towards your end counter.

The reduction was not meant to affect those who already completed the 10K kills. That is a bug and has already been fixed in the next reboot :)

Those who have completed the original quest will retain the augment at its original power.

I don't think that this will lead you anywhere Cojo...
I understand your frustration but what do you expect ?
GMs (a reduced developpement team with all its good will) can't foresee what change they will make in the future. Things have to evolve for the benefit of the greater good.

In few months, cleric will have their epic's npc drop 75-100% of the time the item they want VS around 5% now. I did 3 cleric epics and one shaman (working on second) among the first people here. Will I complain and compare how many hours it cost me VS how many hours it will cost in few months ? No, I will be happy for them and I will be proud of me because I did it "the hard way". I can name you tons of cases like that, and other people on the server can too, and I guess you can too.

You should see things the same way because indeed, you made it the hard way and you deserve a congratulations for it. Never had the patience to do it. Maybe I will now *shrugs*

Oh and no, things are not always getting easier. Just can tell you that DSK3 is still 25k, Chaos is still 15k and HoH boss aren't dropping symbols, and you can only buy them at such a high a price. Did it change ? Yep, before HoH boss dropped symbols and it was better to me, but hey, that's life... Good for those who don't need symbols anymore, too bad for those who need now (opposite of your Fordel gem).

Gms are just making things evolve. Why are they doing it now and they haven't done it before ?
1) They had other stuff to do, more important stuff.
2) Not enough people have publicly or privately asked for a change. I personally haven't seen anything public about it and I have never asked it privately because to me it didn't deserve them to think about it.
3) Solar system planets weren't forming a V and a L in the blue sky. (was tempted to add a heart but I thought it was too much  )

Jokes apart, really, you shouldn't feel that angry. And anyway, saying that way will never (I think) make you have what you are seeking.

I just want to say that i am sad that the devs decided to lower the reqiurements/stats for the aug. Personally i thought it was nice, just a grind to do when i am bored and want to work on something.I know it was a tedious long grind, but then again so is the ldon acheezements and the raven quest in drunder and several other things. I might complain a bit while doing the grind but i want to finish them at my own slow pace. If i wanted things handed to me i would just make my own server and use GM powers to summon what i want. That's not what i want though.
Don't misunderstand me i don't blame the devs , rather i blame the players that complained too much about a grind. I understand that different people have different play styles and amount of time they can sink into a game. That's life, I am sorry they can't play as much as they need/want. I wish they could. Also i am not suggesting that anyone leave the server and not play here. Even though i box 12, i like playing with others and rather prefer that.
To borrow a phrase from someone else on these boards ....
We're all here to have fun. Stop restricting my fun
Yes i know that isn't the whole quote and it is taken a bit out of context, but the nerf HAS taken away one of my goals because i was working on it slowly and by removing one of my unfinished goals you have removed part of my fun in progressing.

^ Pretty much this. I hate grinds, but I do them eventually in my own slow pace and enjoy the rewards when they come.

I'll make this my last post, so I don't ruin the game further for anyone.

In the original post, I thought it was too much of a grind, but I was expecting more along the lines of a little reduction to around 8k kills without affecting the outcome. I have done the long grind, and I thought that best efforts of 20+ mobs, killed very 5 minutes with a high-end group, could manage to kill around 200-250 mobs an hour if your burning hard. 10k mobs in around 40 hours+ which is why I thought was too long a grind for the outcome.

Take into account the level range it is aimed for, and I feel that it is closer to 80+ hours of grind for the appropriate gear level, which I feel misses the target range that you are trying to attract to the zone, and just turns it into something more like classic EQ and less like THF.

You're a great coder Vaion, but sometimes you set the cruel factor to 11, when it only needs 10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xgx4k83zzc

I was only trying to provide feedback of the content I had tried since I came back, and trying to explain some of the issues/frustrations/boredom that stopped me becoming a returning player. Instead I've probably annoyed other players who didn't mind doing an hour in Shadowhaven every now and again.

Many thanks for all the fun you have provided me, and even the grind/Death touches THF have got me with. I had a real blast here 99% of the time which is pretty good as the wife says I'm getting moodier the closer to 40 I get. I'm sure i'll be back for more punishment in the future, but I think I can only handle THF cruelty in very small doses.
