The Hidden Forest

SO for all of you who don't know yet the EQEmu Login Server is being DDoS attacked and the Data Center that was supporting it has terminated the contract. What does this mean? Until Rogean can find a suitable place to put the server no one will be able to log in. In his post on the Project EQ forums he stated that the attack was on a rather large scale and that most of the smaller Data Centers won't be able to handle that kind of attack. This means that to bring it back up he will have to go for a larger Data Center which unfortunately costs more. He was paying some out of pocket each month as it was, meaning that he would have to pay even more now. This being the case he is not sure how the situation is going to be handled. I guess the only thing we can do is hope Rogean finds a solution.

In a worsst case Lillu could open up the Minilogin... its not much of a solution, but at least something...

WIth the minilogin what all is entailed with that? Would it be creating a login for everyone to use from a private server I.E. not EquEmu's? And if so how would character linking to accounts work if at all? Along with that, how would one get the password for said account?

It's a lot of work not to mention the concern that people will claim characters that aren't theirs =/

Yea I wasn't sure if they did logging though. Because I know on some servers they monitor IP and ban with it. If that were the case I imagine it would be possible to somehow authenticate which character came from what IP and the same with the forum accounts on here for mini login such as character 1 was on this IP and Forum account accessed from the same IP so create a login with the username the same and PM the password possibly.
