The Hidden Forest

I am new here! It is a funny story. When I was five I used to watch my parents play EQ. I remembered a castle like place with trees in the distance of the main gate and lots of pools water in the city. I got to try and play and I used to kill rats. Lots. of. rats.

I just got a new computer last month and decided I wanted to try playing this game =D
My computer is a apple macintosh and the version my parents used to play is for that kind of computer. but you have to pay 12 dollars a month to play it so my uncle helped me set up how to play this one on my computer. someone on the project 1999 forums made a thingy that you use to install the PC version and it plays on macintosh. i was going to join the project 1999 server but it had some errors and i saw hidden forest in the list and really liked the name so i made my character there ^^ and i decided to make a account here because my parents said i could =D

and no i have never played world of warcraft O.O this is my first rpg game for a computer i have ever had.

so i hope to meet some fun people here and have a good time! ^^

When you have some time, find Elyse and have her send you to Felwithe. See if it brings back any memories...

Welcome aboard Jay, Im glad your playing EQ as your first as many of us like your parents probably did. Thank god you didnt jump to WoW as you would be permenently brain damaged from the experience. Follow the server rules, respect other players, take your time and have some fun. And by all means dont be afraid to ask questions, EQ has a pretty hard learning curve your first time around.

PS. If you see Firenze, run. Hes got so much DPS you can die just standing next to him.

I did go to felwithe ^^ i think i remember that place from my moms high elf paladin she played.

i do have a question. is there like a way to talk to other people in the game with that box? or is it just for typing to NPCs? i typed /ooc and asked if anyone could see my text but I'm not sure i they can. someone said no but I'm not sure if they were talking about someone else because i could see text in there that looked like real players talking

/ooc Is global. they were just being a smart ass
/say is close to you
/shout is zone wide
/tell playhouse will send a message to playhouse, change the name for who you plan on speaking too

I suggest going into the EQ button and Settings. There you can change keys to perfom duties you want them to, but more importantly you can also see what all the keys do.
