The Hidden Forest

I have just completed my second reading of this wonderful series. I have the books in print and on audio. Absolutely wonderful. If you have read the series in it's entirety or in part and wish to discuss it or have questions about it, I am all ears.

I first heard about the wheel of time years ago, back when Terry Goodkind's first book of the sword of truth series was released.
I put the book onto a list of what I wanted to read when I got the chance. Ended up reading Tad Williams Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn books and got pulled into a used book store and found every dragonlance and forgotten realms book that had been printed up to that date. So I bought them all and it was years later before I found my list again.
Am very grateful that I waited to read the wheel of time until I did as I caught it when most of the books had been printed. I love a good read but hate waiting for the next book.
Terry Goodkind's series is a good example. Started slow then once it got rolling I couldnt wait for the next book.

Anyways I need to go to the store and replace a couple of the books that I am missing and read it again. Great series and I'm always game to discuss it.
Actually this series helped me get through my last deployment. Endless hours monitoring the battlespace net and BFT was so damn boring.

Been there, done that.

i worked at a used book store and read a number of R.A. Salvatore's books, but then lost interest in forgotten realms books, and never got into dragonlance.

i still need to read the latest WoT book, and the next on my list is the Bourne Identity. though my current favorite series is the Felix and Gotrek saga based in Warhammer Fantasy.

I really liked the Bourne books. I read just about everything. Another favorite author of mine is John Sandford and his Prey series.

My favourite author is Anne Mccaffrey. Dragonriders of pern series. But the talent series is also top notch also.

Trudi canavan, Terry Brooks, Terry Pratchett, Robin Hobb are all on my top list also. I do have the 1st 12 Wheel of time books, I just havent got to that part yet. I will probably wait for the 13th book to be released before i do start.

The wife cant understand why I keep all my books. She reads her and gets rid. Trying to explain ive read most of them 3-4 times is not understood.

The wife lists 50 shades of grey as her favourite book. But thats only because its full of smut

Impressive work! I haven't read WoT; however I'm going to look at them this weekend when I head to the book store.

Some pretty amazing authors mentioned above. I'm a big fan of Raymond E. Feist. The magician series just goes on and on (and not in the dragging your feet kind of way).

Forgot all about Raymod E. Feist. Magician is awesome and a classic. Got me hooked on all of his books. David Eddings is another author I sometimes read also. My wife still cant believe I would read a book that had a talking cat in it!

I'm a big audiobook fan as I work in front of a PC all day and enjoy audiobooks while I work.

Feist's Servant of the Empire was an amazing book, never really could sink my teeth in to the others. Eddings Elenium and Tamuli were absolute masterpieces...the only other characters I've ever found as easy to like were Roland's ka-tet in the Gunslinger novels.

If you liked Eddings, you might want to look in to Jennifer Fallon's Second Sons trilogy, or the Harshini books. Second Sons had the only main character I've ever read about that made me feel intellectually inferior...I believe she's made several comments in interviews about how hard it was to write a character that was so much more intelligent than her.

And not to be left out is C.S. Friedman, and the Coldfire trilogy. I've never seen politics, religion and horror wrapped up in such a nice, neat little package before.
