Yeah i saw that on the news while at the gym...So crazy and sad .

Times like this i really wonder what a trial is good for. I mean he walked into the cinema, unloaded a couple of clips, killed a dozen people including kids.

I'd bet on a mental competence defense. They'll argue that he's not mentally competent to stand trial or be responsible for his actions and he'll get squirreled away to some rubber room. He's already shown up to his hearing glassy-eyed and unresponsive.

Well as far as I understood, one week before, he did send to a psychiatrist a precise description of what he was about to do so he will probably be judged mentally responsible...

Ah the days (as bad as they were) of the firing squad. Steal a man's horse and get strung up.
Now we will have something like 10 years or 15 years of trial + appeals.
It is real sad what the times are like.
