Top tier instanced zones

On the request of Harney

I am against instanced zones

Dont do it, the challenge of racing to kill things vs. other guilds (and players) is satisfying. By doing it you potentially open everyone running in POAir / Fear gear making the server easy.

Like to here some counter arguments

I also believe that on server tat don't have 2k+ population, instancing is unneeded, but we still going to have an issue of Raid Flag, which become blocked, when more than 1 guild is trying to get them to get to next tier, and when they need many kills of the target to flag entire guild.

Few month back, before instancing, we have a serious issue with 2 top guilds at each other throats because of it. As of today, the instancing for raids could remove,d only if entire flagging system is redesigned in such way that key mobs do not create bottlenecks.

instancing was implemented because it was needed back in the days due to endless fights and whines. it was work for us. trust me, we didn't do it for fun.

Also, Kron, you are against instancing, while your guild is the nro 1 who keep reporting Avatars not being up.. well they aren't up cause they are competed..

hard to find the balance and make everyone happy. that's why we have instanced (peacefull progression) and non instanced (competition for fun) raid zones.

What i am against is people running around in POAir and Fear gear. These are the top two zones which guild should actively work towards and be on the lookout for when the respective bosses are up. The challenge between guilds is as you say competition for fun. It is frustrating for us when someone has killed Xegony, Cazic Thule or Fennin. We dont complain though as we understand we need to be faster to the spawn next time they are up. Thats the competition right there and the challenge.

If you make Xegony instanced, then make the following instanced also:

Fennin Ro
Plane of Fear
Tier 3 World bosses
Tier 4 world bosses

Because they are no different and all not instanced at the moment.

I dont see a single person complaining about when Chaotic Sev isnt up or when Grieg isnt up. Spawn times and racing to kill has always been a part of everquest.

And also Lillu we only report on Avatars to you because we felt the script was bugged. We are not complaining that someone else killed them because we know, if they are not up one day they will be up again shortly. As i say we report back to you in good faith.

Happy to be proven wrong or hear some counter arguments.

With regards

Grieg is not exactly a progression mob, so most people don't care whether the mob is up or not.

People complain to this day that the 2.0 progression is too tough because of contested mobs in uninstanced zones. Enjoy being on the top of the food chain where you decide what mobs to kill and when. Competition is only fun for the one who is winning, not the one loosing.

Other guilds aren't so lucky to have so many resources to kill each and every mob at will. Everyone wants to progress tho, thats why raid zones are instanced and some are not or some are even unkeyed like PoFIre to even allow the casuals to join with the Raiders.

You'd be suprised how many people play here for the appeal of instanced raiding.

Alot of people cant be bothered with the hassle that goes with non-instanced raiding, and just would give up playing here. I stopped playing on P1999 because of the drama that goes with non instanced raiding, Im too old to deal with that childish crap.

Plus Im sure the GMs here really dont want to have to deal with the issues that Rogean and co have to on a daily basis over at p1999

I have a busy life schedule, as is. If I truly had time to have competition, I'm sure it would be invigorating and fun. I believe instanced raids help such people as myself. I can't be home early in the evening to start progressive zone raids. I play this for leisure, not for sport. Just my .02 cents. ;)

Trust me, we do too.. it's just kept behind the scene most of the time.

I know it's a mission impossible, we try to find the balance and make as many happy as possible. There will always be unhappy players tho.

Ok make Plane of Fear instanced because there have been times when havent been able to raid there becuase someone else has cleared it out

If you make Xegony instanced because someone complained that they couldnt kill it, then make this zone instanced.

Thats only fair unless someone tells me otherwise...
