Titanium Client Autofollow / Setting Background CPU Usage?

Hi all!

Joined THF recently, and I've just been having the time of my EQ life so far. It's great.

But, I do have a problem, and I was wondering if anyone could help with a technical issue.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.

I have a live EQ subscription (two actually.) Until SOE went down I was playing on Vulak after returning to EQ from a long haitus. I two-boxed on Vulak and had issues with autofollow, because unless the current client was the active window, the framerate would be so low that the following character would run in circles or veer off in random directions. I finally found the "Set Background CPU Usage" slider in the options menu, and turning that up to even 20% immediately fixed all issues.

When SOE went down to fix their security issues I looked into the EQEmu servers. I tried the Titanium client (which I'm still using) and it worked, but it lacks the Background CPU Usage slider. All it has is the slider that limits CPU usage when it's the main window. Since EQ is such an old game and my rig is fairly beefy, this is of no use to me at all. It has no effect at all on the EQ client if the EQ client isn't the active window.

I read the EQEmu guide on how to set up the Underfoot client (which I used on live), but it said it needed to be a fresh install... so I uninstalled my UF client so I could reinstall a fresh copy off Steam. Then I realized that it needed a few files that my Titanium copy of the game -doesn't- have. So I had just deleted the folder containing the live files that I needed to make UF work.

I've tried changing every option I could find in the Titanium in-game Options menu. I've tried going to Task Manager in Windows and manually setting the Priority of the processes, but they were all already on Normal... so that wasn't the issue.

Since I box anywhere from two to six characters depending on my mood, not being able to use autofollow is obviously a huuuuuuuuuuge pain in the butt.

Since there's no ETA on SOE coming back online so I can get UF patched, and since I can't get my hands on the files unless I wanted to pay for a copy of SoD or SoF (and I'm not even sure they have the files) from Amazon or Ebay, does anyone have ANY advice for making background clients of EverQuest NOT drop their framerate to almost nothing?

Is there something I can modify in the eqclient.ini? I looked and didn't see anything.

Is this Windows 7's fault and if so does it have an option to adjust background program CPU usage?

If anyone has advice I'd be -very- happy to hear about it.

Thanks in advance!

Still having tons of fun, but it'd be nice if I didn't have to run every single one of my characters separately every time the group needs to move. ;)
