Is there a tutorial on how to do LDON's anywhere?

Hi,

I am a very old returning EQ veteran, and this is all new to me. I had a few great players trying to walk me through it, this is what I have done so far...

Talked to orc, accepted quest "Slaughter, normal, random."
Talked to fairy to teleport me to S Ro.
Arrive in a circle of npc's.
Talked to shroom "Kolar," who tells me about issues with the Takish-Hiz, tells me something about watching nearby orcs. Says he placed a marker on my compass, but there is no mark.
I went to the two nearby orc camps and killed them all, all grey to me, nothing.

I am a level 65 dwarf paladin, using Steam underfoot client, in a "bot" duo group.

Now I am stuck and have no clue what to do.

Can someone explain this to me, like you would to a handicapped child please. ;)

I am having a lot of trouble getting experience, and try to be polite to the 70+ mass AA farmers that constantly destroy every zone I enter, by relocating to a different part of the zone or another zone [though it seems that they follow you and won't share even a section of the zone], and as a casual player and getting fed up waiting for a ring of spawns to regenerate, getting to kill one or two before someone runs up and kills the other 6. I just don't have the time to spend 10-15 minutes relocating every 5-10 minutes when someone feels the desire to pull the whole zone. I am limited to 2-4 hours a day on average between coming home from work and when my 5 year old son wakes up.

--------------------UPDATE------------------------

Okay, I figured it out, I was in the wrong place. But, still, the moment I got in there I killed 3 sand mutants which was extremely hard, almost died immediately, then went up the path a little further, pulled, got two and was totally murdered. Don't get me wrong, i love a challenge, but this is beyond challenge, soloing [bot duo] 60 yellow mobs is more like suicide than a challenge.

This is the best exp option for level 65???

I heard a whisper there are lots of new zones in the pipeline, but in the meantime maybe an instanced 'xp zone' would help give farmers something to do :)

Give it a decent xp mod, loot free, and somewhat harder than the xp it gives. Well geared players PL'ing would not be bothered by the difficulty. Just a thought.

Easy LDON's are very hard until you are geared for them. They are designed for a group 61+. Head back to sebillis/POV and get your lvl 70, grab a few defensive aa's and get some Kael armour. Then go back and duo with a bot. Its a much better experience.

Once your heavily geared, easy LDON's are a matter of pulling 24 mobs at a time. If you can handle Kael, LDON's are about the same, but skipping the custom content is not advised as you will be missing out on a whole load of armour/gear/augs.

Unless your being pwrlvld, the best way to play on this server is to fully explore each tier as you lvl up and do all the side quests in the zone. Once you have finished the 1-70 zones you should be fairly well geared enough to run through LDON's with ease.

I took my time lvling up, and made sure that I fully explored each zone, got all my upgrades/quests and finished the zone fully. I found this to be the best way as my gear was all the best it could be for that tier which made a huge difference.

Man speaks the truth, got to love the fishbait, when I started it was war/clr/mnk and I was able to partner with a rog and do most all of tov east/west.
Later I skipped content because I was doing alts and wasnt bothered with doing the tasks at the time.

Sounds like you were in a hard ldon, try the easy. With a bot it shouldnt be to bad.

You need to select I believe easy in the window before you ask for an task, you can do collections, mob count, save the npc, or kill the boss. I started back when I first did them with the ones in everfrost.

As far as other zone, Fungus Grove is always quiet, and being its a huge zone there can be many grps in there without stepping on each other, Icewell is probably the worse zone to try to do, to many people trying to get Icy emblems for the 2.0 and the truth for vp access. POS is also an other zone where there are lots of mobs if you venture past the frog caves and back in one of the side areas usually there is nobody around and alot of the mobs are non argo just becareful some are. Questing will also get you exp.

Good luck

everything said above was true.

depending on what your style is, maybe try 3 box (tank, healer, dps) instead of tank + bot. i personally like EF ldon the best - shortest run. also, if you are only after xp, i'd say skip the hard ldon. sure, the mobs give better xp as they are lvl 70. but it takes longer to kill them and they hit hard for players without decent gears. hard ldon is only good for the possible boss augs and loots imho.

ooc for someone running a ldon with ya might work too if you don't feel like boxing.
