Are pet classes the current best DPS???

Hey guys hoping to glean a bit of knowledge from the boards:)

What class or classes do you guys feel are the best as far as DPS goes at this current time? I have been thinking about adding a second group, and am trying to figure what would be the best setup/dps to add.

My first group is as follows:
SK
Cleric
Bard (Horrible dps, but adds to others)
Necro (Pet focus and donor pet)
Mage (Pet focus and donor pet)
Ranger (Sacrificial lamb)

the Necro and Mage average around 50-60k dps.

My second group will consist of:
Enchanter (Debuffs)
Shaman (off heals and donor clicks; not sure if I should replace with Dru for debuffs or even cleric for better heals)
DPS
DPS
DPS
DPS

I have a Berzerker(Donor Weapon), Rogue(Donor BP and weapons), Wizard(Donor BP, Weapon, and Legs), and two non donor wizards. So far, when I parse them on the T8 dummies, they do not come near the Mage or Necro:/

Am I doing something wrong? Are the pet classes the best dps at this point?

Yes, assuming similar levels of donorship the pets will outdamage any other donor. If the rogue has full donor (all items, all weapons and donor dmg augs, and all leafs of the forest) they will destroy the pet, but pet really just needs the BP and the donor weap v1 (donor focus aug helps, but more for surviveabililty less for dmg)

Thanks for the quick reply:) How much damage does a full donor Rogue do?? Also, in your experience, do Wizards even come close anymore?

My setup is
sk - cleric - nec - bst - mage - bard
war - cleric - rogue, zerk, monk, ranger
shaman, druid, enchanter, wizard, mage, mage
cleric, wiz x5

I like the wiz dps, and recently dropped 2 bards for mages with just the t8 pet. The bards add some, but in testing I found just adding a pet class outperformed. 4/6 wizzies, the druid and ench also have the draekon pets. The shaman new pet is fun for the heals it can add.

Specific numbers I'd let Airion or Dusta chime in with, they have the rogues that can compare.

As far as i know the highest non donor melee dps class is Zerker. Highest donor dps would be Rogue if you hav ethe right donor items. My Rogue can on a fully debuffed t8 dummy and with druid donor bp reach as high as 10 mil dps if crits go right. My rogues average dps is just running around solo is around 1mil. Dustah's rogue blows mine out of the water.

A T9 geared zerker as of this week (Ashtyn's character) reached over 600k dps no donor items just full debuff with my donor debuffs. dps with out any of the dubuffs was aroun 350k.

Donor pets are OP and will have the best sustained dps over all.

Shaman is a great character to have even if you are just using it for a heal/buff/slow toon. There are lots of clickies that will make you shaman able to heal well enough to keep around.

As far as adding more dps to your crew it all comes down to how you like to play. Nilbus likes the casters it seems while i made a whole group of mainly zerkers for the fun of it. You seem to have some good classes with donor gear already. Unless you are just wanting to level and add to your army i would go with what you have.

Now as far as the dps goes to bring your already geared characters. There are alot of clickies we have had to gather and discs that i make sure are used during a fight. If you catch me online or in the discord channel i'd be happy to go thru your characters and help you optimize their dps. I say make one of every class and see which ones you like the most. The only class i dont have is a beastlord and thats just because im not really a fan.

If i was starting from scratch knowing what I know now. The 5 of the wizzies would be mages. The casting supremacy of the wizards at the time made them a better choice, but nowadays I'll trade that damage in for smaller nukes but the pets from a mage.

Assuming we are talking about donor gear the list is:
1st - Rogue as long as you max out BS damage (332 I think) and it's not even close. Can divide the rouge in half and they are number 1 and 2.
2nd - Zerker
3rd - Mage if you get both donor weapons to keep the pet perma buffed.
4rd - Nec

Get the Druid and Shammy Donor BP's and then BS with the rogue =)

A lot of people don't really think about them as dps too much but don't sleep on the enchanter donor robe. While no where close to a donored out rogue or consistent as a mage/necro/BL on trash mobs but on boss mobs they are devastating. Mine takes down Fevran in seconds by herself.

Without donor gear yes pets are absolute best dps you can get in game over non donors.

Rogs are number 1 in dps with certain donor slots
Zerkers number 2 in donor gear
Chanter robe owns all as it summons a exact copy of the mob your fighting and sends it on that mob for 60 seconds.

But before i got the donor rog and zerk i was donor pets to progress forward. I will say with my 6 donor pets was not much not killable at that point for me.
