May we get more feedback on the reason why people voted NO before Tyler & Lillu take their decision?

Obviously, I voted yes. I will just say that that's the way I roll. I get the most enjoyment out of boxing a ton of toons. It's not completely easy to do so, and not so hard when you get used to it. An elaborate set of hotkeys is the boxers best friend, but it takes FOREVER to find the right set up. I dreaded starting a new server because of the time involved in setting up, but I'm glad I made the leap on THF. The challenge I get in this game is from 6-boxing with guildies and making it work. Part of Progeny's (early) success was due to boxers, including myself. In a low population server, there's not much choice. I'd hate to be limited to only playing tank + cleric + shaman + cleric bot on nearly everything. I'm biased though, I will not disagree with that....

I voted yes. After boxing out of necessity over the years, I find no fun or challenge in playing only 2-3 characters. The social aspect..sure I love friends..help out anybody..and allow anybody to group with me...but I just got sick of power raiding, guild politics, and whiners over the years.

Bloodmoon, for future reference..... you can easily copy hotkeys and graphic setups from server to server by copying then renaming the cfg files to new server (these files located in your base directory).... (also if this isn't what you mean by setting up ..sorry hehe).

For example..if you were moving a character named SPOT from stormhaven to THF, I would copy the two cfg files to eq\backup directory, then rename...

SPOT_stormhaven.cfg and UI_SPOT_stormhaven.cfg to
SPOT_hiddenforest.cfg and UI_SPOT_hiddenforest.cfg

Then copy them back to eq\.

I voted yes because its quite simple....this is a EMU server where there is not gonna be people online the same time you are that want to do the same stuff as you. So yea i have 5 toons right now and eventually maybe six....i mean i have not raided in forever due to work i just dont have time to make any sooo i have not been playing because i have nothing to really do other than box but im at the point where the only thing i could do all 5 of my chars is just farm aa and thats boring.

I think the majority of people who vote no do so because they cant due to computer limitations and get jealous of us who can basically 12 box if we really wanted to with one pc. Maybe im wrong...but i see no reason why we shouldnt be able to box on a server where the most ppl online ever is like 50ish.

But during most times i play i see like 12-20 people online and they are either new players or those who are afk in the forest....okay great now i get to sit around by myself with nothing to do?

Just let us 6box and those who cant/dont want to well save up some money and buy a new pc then six box with the rest of us....until the server becomes huge with 200+ players at all time i think boxing should be allowed for those of us who dont get to play with everyone due to whacky schedules, its nice to just progress n do things on my own.

Edit to my previous post i was unaware that this change already went in where players can not more than 3 box. I read the whole post about it in daily chat.


And i have to ask is why??

People complaining we are soloing raid bosses? Uhmmm learn to not get jealous its not like six boxers do it any easier than a raid of six. Falcore can solo the 1.5 dragons no one is complaning about him doing it...yea hes got the gear and skill good for him.

I dont see how six boxing is any different, I honestly think people are just butthurt that they can not six box and progress on their own and need to rely on other people(which in all honesty not many people who play here have the exact schedule as 6-10 other people to raid with) I know i dont, i was able to raid with Help Desk often last month because my work schedule and hours were a lot lower but its closer to xmas and we get a larger volume of customers therefore more labor that is demanded so im working a lot more than i was.

So i started 5boxing my own little group with a bot to do some fun group stuff(like 1.5) and aa grinding and doing kael n stuff, i dont understand how that can be game breaking or content breaking, its the same as having 5 other people with me and me just 1boxing...

It honestly makes no sense to me :X

Ya know maybe they have something to this. Let people six box, and just tune the content up so much that it requires 3 -4 groups of 6boxes to at even attempt it. Should stop the raid content problem.

I am afraid that would create an opposite problem: the raid which currently double with 12 Real people, will now REQUIRE each of them to 3 box to do it.
I don't box. never did, never will. I don't have problems with my PC supporting ANY number of boxes. I too like to solo A LOT, yet I see no reason why difficulty of content has to GO UP, so people who 6-x can have a challenging encounter?

Thanks, but I actually do this already. What it comes down to is choosing the appropriate classes and then finding the niches within the groups needs and going from there. Server content design and abilities vary, therefore my hotkeys vary. The generic assist and attack hotkeys are the same, but some hotkeys are different depending on need. Requires more than just copy and paste for me. At least, that's how I do it because I like to tailor my style to the design of the server.

Honestly what they started doing on live with raid encounters and im not sure i fyou can do it here but i twas to stop the ppl GKing.... is the mob would be agro for 10 seconds and it has to have a certin # of ppl on its hate list if it didnt then the mob would go back to 100% and deagro. So this is an idea.
