just got underfoot and loaded it up today. i used the sod sof hot file installer and a bunch of my spells are missing or named improperly. also i am permanently snared by different named bard songs on different toons that refresh whenever i zone. i love the loading times so i would love to keep using it any help is appreciated.

also noticed that i cant sit or camp out on one toon keeps saying you do not have control of yourself.

make sure you install the spell file too - as they arent included within the patcher EXE u dled.

thx bront i knew i was forgetting something. just assumed the installer added the spell file.

np - unforunately it doesnt, i think thats because the spell file gets updated much more often then the installer itself. the installer basically adds the gfx files you need to see everything, global load etc. which dont change very often.

Yeah, spell files get updated much, much faster than the installer itself; hence why they're separate. Heck, it's not unheard-of to go through more than one spell file over the course of a week, if there's heavy raiding of a new raid tier going on.

Heck, we've seen that and then some in just the past couple weeks with Dreadspire. Just to be clear, I'm certainly not complaining about it. I'd rather have to go redownload and replace my spell file weekly or bi-weekly than deal with crash bugs, spell bugs, and other hair-pulling error issues.

Watch the server's portal page. If you see an update that has NEW SPELL FILE in big bold text on it, immediately book it over here, nab it, and install it. That thread always has the latest spell file.

Aye we kept them separate because of the amount of updates that get pushed into the spell file at times.

Normally we only try to update the spell file once a week or so, but sometimes things get messed up (who remembers the 2 hour period of near instant cast CD for wizzies?) and we are forced to do it more often than we like.

But like posted above, we will always announce new spell and installer files in big bold font when a new one is available.

I do, it WAS glorious, and I say that not being a wizard. I think we put a dent in CT dummy's hp that time.

I remember when wizards NPC were casting 32K nukes!
