Just as a curiosity, you didn't happen to alter the server motd to be gigantic did you?

I am not saying that something malicious is happening, merely suggesting that the precautions be taken. Buffer overrun is an old (but very effective) technique to 'trick' a program into executing malicious code (aka shell code). I don't know how server traffic could alter the execution flow of the client tho.

Tyler logged off a tad earlier and did nothing as far as I know... I was working on new npcs and quests. nothing new, nothing special..

atm, if I turn off the account ip check for GM accounts, I crash with Lillu too. when it's turned on, I can log on fine. so seems like the only way to log on is with a gm toon who's client ip is checked against the db..

ok, paranoia mode OFF...

a friggin npc name caused all the issue, lol.. most weird issue ever.

sorry about it, it's all fine now.

Special thanks to Mazzic for catching the wrong npc name in THF...

Man! That is freaky lol! Still confusing though how come I could still log in with SoF into THF. Even when I did, Kain was still in there on all 4 toons (and quite alone). Brings to mind an old addage (changed to be more appropriate) - "EQEmu ... it's like that."
