Vanishing items (before tonight's reboot)

This was a first for me and I can reproduce it, but the items change. I bought 40 heal pots, 100 suspensions and 80 vials from the pok vendors and then did one round of poison making. I applied my poisons (for skill) and decided I would try out something since I had a quick succession of skill ups last night when making poisons in THF (I know there is probably no such thing as a tradeskill mod in THF, but that's just what I do - figure out if there really is).

Upon using my charm to gate back, I opened my m&p and saw I couldn't do any combines because all my suspensions and vials were gone. My money level was still decreased and my skorp poisons were partially depleted. I noticed on my duplication attempt that the 40 pots I bought were gone too.

Second try to duplicate this, I bought 20 vials and 20 suspensions, made a poison, applied it, gated, and voila ... I have 19 vials but no suspensions. So this time I only lost HALF of what I bought!

Kinda freaky, eh?

At first I thought maybe it had to do with tradeskilling, but all my skorp poison sacs were there and also the pots I bought were among the missing. So it has something to do with the server not recognizing I bought them? However, it didn't return my cash like it does when buying skills past the teaching cap (if you try to train up a tradeskill for example, it will "let" you train it, but then when you zone, all your money is back and your skill is back to where it was).

Further testing:

Today I bought about 80 suspensions and vials and did some combines, but not enough to use them all up. I did maybe 60 combines and applied maybe 40 of those? I rearranged my bags so as to organize my supplies (sometimes moving things around helps? I dunno). At that point I wanted to check if my idol/insignia disappeared so I ran to the bank to check and grabbed some more cash so I could buy those potions I lost. At this time my wife asked me to go to the store so I AFK'd for about 10 minutes. When I came back I ran to the potion npc, bought poitions and gates with the charm.

Everything was in my bags as when I gated.
