Not to disrespect you Koeril, but that is an absolutely terrible arguement. Automatically, because Daddy is an alt he should parse less than Nigrog, and automatically, because Hans is a main and Monkz is an alt, he should parse higher than him? That doesn't make any sense nor is in any way shape or form a valid arguement. Compare the gear, Daddy has everything a monk can currently get, save another 4 damage from the air aug.

Rather hard to disrespect someone when you don't read what they wrote so don't worry I don't hold anything against you. Let's give it another try, hmm?

Koeril wrote:Yes, comparing myself to Monkz (both alts).

Anyways, I don't care ... you guys can parse yourselves and come to some conclusion. My data came from a time before when PoFire didn't exist so I'm sure it is outdated.

*Edit* This is my last try to get this in here (3rd try) ... forum is running so terribly slow. I never actually answered your question. My data comes from a time of a few parses I did in ST before PoFire was out. We both had our 2.0 and smolder/salindrite. He was pulling 2.0k DPS with melee only and I was pulling 1.8k by melee+procs.

I read, in its entirety, your post, multiple times before I made my reply, I still don't understand after re-reading the thread, what I missed or didn't understand.

My data came from a time before when PoFire didn't exist so I'm sure it is outdated.

Please, reparse yourself and the monks, I don't see how they could be coming out on top.

Summary:

Our backstab hit rate is already very high and the 35% accuracy mod does not work.

The reason why you can't get above 95% is because it caps there. In Client::Attack where hit chance is calculated, you always have a 95% cap on hit chance *unless* a guaranteed hit discipline is in effect. Why is it like this? Otherwise the miss mechanic would be useless, riposte would not work for NPCs hitting you, etc.. because you would always hit.

As for damage, i'll be re-tuning a lot of what's broken, I just need data from more than one source of information. The way I see it is melee is a dangerous thing. If you go into melee, you should be able to do high dps at the expense of two things: 1) Getting aggro and not having distance from the mob, thus getting hit, or 2) You have a chance of getting riposted from the front if the mob turns around, eating rampage, etc. Melee is really risky and causes clerics mana. Melee should be ahead of the game of ranged damage (ranger comes to mind of what should be tweaked) but never too far from ranged damage. (meaning a 1-2k gap in dps from a caster versus a melee is unacceptable, especially in the case of a wizard.) We'll continue to monitor dps from parses YOU post, so instead of arguing things pointlessly, let's post some information to fix things :)

We should differentiate 3 parses - Sun's buff only - Sun's buff + discs - Raid buffs

Wizard DPS is high when only Sun's buffs but really low in raid buffs (As there is no difference between Sun's buff & Raid buff except "Devotion line" which lowers casting time & the bard song +% DD modifier)

Btw, Welcome back Secrets!

You can't see how these two statements disagree?

I can't explain it any clearer, sorry.

That'd be impossible as Jeido has, for all intents and purposes, left THF and I doubt his return. Of course, as it is right now, there isn't much left of Evo at all anyways much less a monk alt I could parse with who would be on the same level.

Still hoping that you guys will take some time and contribute to the parsing topic so that there can be a controlled experiment with actual number comparison and disregard certain things like bard songs or shorter fights.
