Tough to balance then if you can't change the Rampage to only target players and not pets.

Lately its a simple question of numbers. Most of us are now raiding with 2 or 3 people boxing anywhere from 3 to 6 characters. In the later tiers dedicating a healer to a pet is definitely not an option. We have our hands full keeping the Tank and the 3 Melee DPS alive.

All massively overhauling the pets themselves will do is make it easier on the newly 70s, it won't do anything to address the situation of pet classes on raid content. It might make the pet live an extra 5 or 7 seconds but really that's only like 3k damage.

Is there any way to separate rampage damage from regular? I know that the Tank never gets hit by Rampage, maybe you can throw that condition onto pets?

Or possibly increasing Pet's attack range to outside of Rampage radius?

thats again a subject of altering the source code...
We (as the content developers) do not choose to have Rampage not to hit the tank - this is how its codded in by the source coders at Emu.

How often does Rampage strikes? (I assume we talking about aoe rampage?)
what is the average damage?
how many strikes per rampage event / per single target?

give me a few numbers from boss mobs from each raid tier. don't need to be exact.

I have monster damage filtered out on my clients. Between weapon procs and panther it generates a large amount of lag with 3 clients.

Hopefully someone else still has mob damage turned on.

Also, anything below T4 PoFire my damage numbers would be off quite a bit due to AC.

The problem I see with boosting pet stats (hp, ac, dmg) for raid survivability, is at the point pets become able to withstand the amounts of damage raid mobs dish out for any given time then normal content becomes trivial for pet classes. Possibly you could give pet classes a heal (a huge heal over time spell) but it would have to be zone restricted, would have to be their pet only, and would need to have a long refresh timer.

Enchanters I am eagerly waiting to see the illusions for the 60+ range.

Wizards, I looked around at the spells last night between what the allaclone here shows and what Allakazaham shows. Etherflame got about 3k increase in damage 400 extra mana to cast and I think the resist adjust is 75 instead of 50. The lure line of spells are same dmg/resist adjust as live. At some point I figured I would take the time and go through and do a full spell comparison for wizards but it just has not been a top priority so far. I do know it would be nice to see Druzzil Harvest (aa ability) and Harvest (level 32) mana recovery spells bumped. Mana Weave (level 69) does not add the recourse effect.

while pets did get a stat boost, I was actually basing them of pre-raid mobs of corresponding levels - so trash mobs still MUCH stronger than the pets ;)

But as far as raid goes- yeah it seems no amount of raw hp will save the pet unless a healer is attached to it. Pet heals or pet runes could be an option, but on other hand- they could also ultra trivialize non raid fights - if you have say a 5k pet heal you can use not just on raids.

so no easy solution to this atm I afraid.

As far as spell dps and resist go - for mages, wizard, and necros - I am looking into it next

From this post here http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=30512 I gather, spells can be blocked zone wide, and also only in certain parts of a zone. So Perhaps a raid only type heal could be introduced for the pet casters?

Well, ill use sleeper's warders as an example, they rampage every 20-40 seconds it seems for about 5-8k on Nataka.

About trivializing non raid stuff, if your in raid gear, its suppose to trivialize other stuff, why make pets any different? a Tier 6 geared person shouldnt have much trouble in a Tier 1 raid zone, so why should a pet? Pets heals should get a minor boost, maybe even a hot added.

My 2.0 epic pet, is 73, 5k ac, 28k hp, and a mob in solb can kill him quite easily because he doesnt have all the dodge / block etc a real NPC does. Just because you boost the pets doesnt mean their gonna be able to replace a real person tanking mobs.

Keep in mind that Rampage is not on a timer. I've seen mobs do 4 Rampages in 2 or 3 seconds.

ok any necro experts around?
besides the pets you can summon, and the one of epic - are there any others?
And I am looking at the pet which comes out of epic 1.5 and epic 2.0, and they look like a total crap (stats wise) compared to a regular lev 70 pet.

any necros want to share the knowledge? ;)

UPDATE:

necro pets updated: they are about at 2/3 BST pet hp and ac, but at similar dps.
They all warriors by class (not like that crappy lev 55 rogue/monk made any difference) but they can with quad attack at high levels.
