Mage pets also come from a 1.5 weapon. Dunno if they're being tweaked or not, but it'd help.

Pet-only defensive procs that either rune or heal would be ideal in my opinion. The spell could be droppable via raid content, possibly in different ranks to include higher heals/runes as they go up. Of course, defensive procs would have to actually work (worthwhile spending time on in my opinion if you want to find a way to buff up druids too).

Also, I do believe on live, many of the higher end BST pet only proc-type buffs proc a DD with a built in self-rune component. Comes in handy to create a helpful mini-barrier between rampages...if anything to create some cushion in time to pull pet away if it gets too intense to heal up and jump back in. This could also be modified to increase survivability.

aye- that what i been thinking as well. Pet on raid doesn't take direct dmg, so if it procs rune on itself, it may hold up for a while to save it from occasionally incoming Rampage damage.

First, thank you for looking at casters. I was getting tired the server being full of warriors, monks, rogues and shm/clr bots.

Second, it seems like the only way to really fix pet classes is to find a way to tie pet performance to player gear. I don't know how you would do that. It would probably take new code. But to scale pet classes, pets need to gain the dodge / parry / crit / double attack / hp / ac like the players.

Perhaps if there was a way to directly tie player stats to pets, then base pet ac/hp coupled with caster ac/hp ( in some reasonable percentage ) would give them the survivabiilty they need. Would be even better if necros/mages/bst could wear the dodge/double attack/ parry armors and have those skills increases apply too. That would give an entire new itemization path to that group of casters.

Also, I am unsure how the pet weapon dmg works but is there a reason why there are not itemization lines of gear that summon stacks of weapons (like the ranged ninja star pouches) to e pets? It seems like if there was then that would be your simple solution to pet damage scaling with melee.

Would this idea work for dodge/double attack/parry skills as well? Itemization for pet classes that summons temporary stacks of gear with all of these stat/skill upgrades pets need to survive raid mobs and contribute decent dps?

Sorry if this is already in game. I played a necro to 58 and rerolled so i cant really comment on pet classes at end game.

Finally, to address your question about shm / druid healing. I raid on a shaman. Our heals are pathetic and limited. At max healing AA (power/crits) and 70% focus I heal for about 7200 non crit with Wilsiks (spelling). I havent had the air heal drop for me yet (still need smoke avatar) but that should help some. Im not sure what its base is but I would be fine with it healing 10-12k non crit with my current gear.

The main problem with shaman healing is that we literally dont do anything but spamm that one heal. No group heal. Inferior hot that takes WAY too long to cast. Again please correct me if I missed a LDON spell. I heard that Shm get access to the clr hot ( but i havnt seen it drop yet or looked to hard for it either).

The only thing that my shaman brings to raids is buffs and spam healing the main tank.

Shaman main healing strength seems to be that between an occasional canna/AA canna/ ToV chest/ and Fire? belt clickies i can regain a substantial portion of mana very quickly, allowing me to literally cast as soon as the heal come off cooldown and not worry too much about running out of mana.

With a cleric in the group, the most efficient healing setup seems to be shm spam healing MT, while clr does slower big heals and occasionally tosses in a group heal.

Hope that helped, if I am doing something wrong please tell me.

Hello,

First of all, let's concentrate on Cloth casters + Pet classes. Make a separate post for healers if you want some class balance (which has been discussed previously when PoAir spells were introduced then modified "cleric" against "shamly/druid" healing efficiency)

Concerning cloth caster, I will only be able to provide feedback for wizards.
We made a lot of testing/adjustments with Tyler when back in the days, we worked hard on how to improve this nuker class.

Wizards T3/T4 were Up once Tyler implemented few things:

1st: Jaled flame optimizer Focus on 2.0
1 : Effect type : Decrease Spell Mana Cost by 45%
2 : Effect type : Limit: Spell(Ether Flame)

2nd: to solve mana gathering issue
Silver Chains (15K) then Cloth Elemental boots (20K) saw their recast adjusted to 5min.

3rd: Ether Flame spell have been upgraded more than once in terms of dmg/manacost and is now a really good nuke spell.

4th: Brillande of might II (+% critic spells) & Mana Flare I II & III LDON (adding a dd proc "caster panther")
Those 2 effects could have been a huge plus for Wiz if it would stack together with Ro's flamming familiar (+10% DD regular nuke). As it is not the case, I do not use them as I prefer to keep a regular +10% DD.

5th: AA's not working Frenzied Devastation (GoD) & Prolonged Destruction (OoW) which would definitly change Wizard's Raid dps.

That said, let's see what it gives in raid content.
I always play my Wizard with my bard Alt 2.0 equipped (Spirit of Vesagran: Increase Spell Damage by 60%), singing "Ancient: Call of Power" which is a Increase Spell Damage by 35%.

Adding this a True fire focus item (+80% DD fire modifier) & all AA's I reach:
Ether flame Casting time: 4.2 with true devotion.
Regular Ether Flame = 20K
Critic Ether flame = 45K
Few resists even with a small modifier : Fire (adjust: -75)

Last thing to add: Between 2 Ether casts, I run a writ of dragonkind clicky (caster seconday/range ST item) which is perfect to recover from previous Ether casting and then chain 1 ether / 1 clicky / 1 ether and so on...

I agree that unbuffed parses against Vlad cannot reflect Raid situation so next time we raid ST or PoF (if we find something up to kill:) ) I will parse and post exact DPS because numbers are very important to understand the huge difference between a monk or ranger Dps with Wizard dps.

By the way, even if critic numbers are huge, we are still far from melee DPS till my 4th & 5th points aren't solved.

So considering Wizards are on top of cloth casters DPs, I totally understand how bad feel the other cloth class, espescially the dot one's.

Last thing to handle is mana recovery which is very important and does not allow to use max Dps on trash just before a named.

That's what I can add to the debate with wizard feedback. I also got a little bit disappointed with casters situation that I created a monk and a shamy to add to my crew instead of Druid & chanty...

I'm trying to organize the posts so we have specific to pet and specific to caster as suggested .
