A question about skill values shown..

I asked this in /ooc but no one seemed to know. On my warrior when I open up my skills panel all of my melee skills show a value in red that is less than the value shown when I go to my GM trainer. I am not encumbered nor am I currently under any detrimental spell or effect. The value stays red whether buffed or not...so I am pretty lost. It's a good 30-50 point difference in most cases.

Any ideas what this might be?

the THf server skill caps are higher than the default caps as they known to the client software.
The client shows your caps in according to default values. The client receives information from server than your current skill in fact above the allowed cap, so it shows your skills in RED as if they are penalized for something.

You DO in fact have the skills as shown by your trainer

Depending on if the command is available to general players or not, you should also be able to use the #myskills command to see a popup window that lists all of your current skills and their values. I am not sure offhand which revision that was added in, but you can type #help to see all # commands available at your account status level. If it isn't available, it should be once THF updates to the latest source code, as long as they set the command min status to 0 in the commands table.
