yeah when i start tomorrow ill be running solo + bot most of the time and from what i have read Paladin bot is the best for every class unless your a tank which then you would want a healer bot.

I have read there is a custom mob in Crushbone called Skullcracker and is lvl 35 i think. Is he soloable with a 40+bot or is he better left alone?

I love the fact u can get your epic 1.0 at lvl 1 i mean wow but thats kinda rigged ya think? take mage epic 1.0 doesn't it summon a lvl 61 air pet? you could seriously powerlevel with that pet + paladin bot.

One of the things i loved about original EQ was the fact u could sit in a group for hours grinding mobs and chillin. I know on this server the lvling is to fast for that but are there any reason for grouping?

*insert evil cackle here*

Skullcracker is very do-able with just a bot, around 35ish, I seem to recall.

As for grouping, there are lots of reasons for grouping. I seriously wish I had more stable play-time in my alleged life so I could hang out with a bunch of people, instead of always running around solo with my Terrible Trio. Some of the custom zones are geared towards group-play, and the custom LDoNs as well. When you get ingame and explore the Hidden Forest "staging area" you will notice a lot of NPCs that grant you access to the various zones, and some of those are clearly labelled for groups. Plus, it's always really nice to run into a bunch of like-minded people that you can hang out with in some random zone and commit carnage for many hours.

As for Epic 1.0s being rigged. Well, for starters, they're not exactly handed to you on a silver platter. You DO still have to run out and gather the quest items. Enjoy the simplicity, because when it is time to start your 1.5 Epic, you will definitely notice a hugh difference in difficulty. I have a handful of lvl 70 characters on this server, and only ONE of them has made any progress on her 1.5, and that's because I shamelessly tagged along on some other hunting ventures. Whether or not she will ever finish the quest still remains to be seen.

As for guilds, I really have had no personal experience with any of them. I was a member of one guild for a few days, but then realized that I have no desire for any hardcore raiding(due to playing a raiding Cleric on Live for waytoodarned long) so I would be nothing more than a leech on them, which my conscience won't allow, so I removed myself. I have threatened, in the past, to make a guild strictly for tradeskillers and/or people who don't like to raid for whatever reason they have. But there are enough guilds on the server already, I don't want to create one for just a silly, shallow reason. If you want to join a guild, just get to know their members somehow and see what happens from there. Familiarity doesnt always breed contempt, it can also lead to invitations for guild membership.

Uh-oh, time to start dinner.

you get it easy the first 30 levels, with epics and all (but no Mages epic got changed, and it no longer give you the pet, as it would be way overpowered), but then the difficulty of encounters will start rising to match the gear you collected in the early levels.
In the 40+ things will go easy again for a bit once you have the tier 2 set of gear, but once you step into Tier 3 - your skills will be put to the test ;)

Skullcracker is soloable around lev 30 ;)

For your information, just in case you hate the default UI as much as the rest of us:

http://www.eqinterface.com/
Depending on which install pack you have, you will want interfaces that are compatible with either Titanium or SoF.

And maps, don't leave home without them. Yes, some of the spawns/Nameds may be different, but the basic layout of the zones are the same.

http://www.mapfiend.net/

I think that should just about cover it. Throughout these forums, there are many awesome player-created guides that span levelling, upgrading your character, various tradeskills and strategy hints for that Mob that keeps killing you.

Have fun!!

Yes, the Paladin is the premiere bot ... but only for a time. Once you begin raiding, you'll see that the rampage is always an Ae rampage due to the coding of Emu. It didn't happen a lot on live, but is everywhere here once you get past Ssra.

As such, you'll not want to neglect a cleric bot as they will be the most useful to you at that point and a few of the guilds require you to have one at least with a semi decent mana level.

To be honest, I would keep one of each type geared up as you level and come to equipment that you either pass down or would otherwise let rot. I'd suggest having a Pally, Cleric, and then your choice of melee DPS bot. Sometimes this DPS bot changes depending on your own class ... for instance it would be a shame to focus on a monk DPS bot if you are a Rogue because the equipment you would pass down to your bot would benefit a Rogue more.
