Anyone a computer wiz?

I have been having problems with my desktop the past few weeks and I can't seem to find the solution. I'm using an Asus P5N-E SLI CPU card and my fan is Aquamaster S1. The fan turns on fine and starts running, lights up etc when I boot the computer. The problem is that upon boot up I get the message saying "Warning: your computer CPU fan fail or set too low". I go into Bios and sure enough Fan1 is running at 0 RPM (Even though it *is* running, I have my case open) and the temperature slowly rises.

The odd thing is that it doesn't even always happen. Sometimes it will boot up without any problems, sometimes it will give the error and the fan will not initiate.

Also, I am very unfamiliar with liquid cooling but the end of the cooling tube that connects to the CPU gets warm/hot when the CPU is heating up, but the part near the fan itself is normal temperature. The part that is actually connected to the CPU board is very hot as well.

One last thing, I took out the aquamaster fan and cleaned it out. (it was filthy I must say) I was hoping that wa

edit: oops, sorry I thought I had the same mobo....but I was off by a couple years...haha. If you can't figure it out, go to www.silentpcreview.com. The people over there have always been really helpfull when it comes to computer problems, and there are some people really experienced with water cooling. I've always wanted to try water cooling, just haven't had the opportunity yet.

I'm a computer guy, or was, but unfortunately I've been out of the business for about 5-6 years and am not familiar with water cooled systems. However, I wanted to tell you about http://www.opentechsupport.net/ which is where I went to when I had a problem I couldn't handle. They helped me through some pretty tight spots and helped me keep my job at least once :)

Nice thing about this site, is that they were once the unofficial tech support site for Blizzard games so they are fairly knowledgeable (not some podunk tech site).

Hope you get it figured out! To me it sounds like just a detection or intermittency problem, but then again I've been out of the loop for awhile.

Opentechsupport keeps giving me incorrect word when I try to register. (the anti-spam visual test) I even tried the audio one and it doesn't work! I was able to get in touch with a tech person though and they think the motor on my liquid cooling is blown :\
