just an idea: how about to check server's db if the account got somehow banned by server?

btw. the bug happened to me too, it was after two crashes of client (client just exited to desktop without an error message). since the second i can not log in the account after server selection

note: i tried to log in on test server with this account after this problem. not working
note: i can confirm, that creating a new account and using it to log in on same computer on same everquest installation, just while the previous can not log in, can be successful. making /who otherchar gets no result, so it is not the character getting stuck
note: using stuck character mover will not solve the issue

Just curious, but do you use the same password for all of your accounts, or are they all different?

Recently started on one of my accounts as well. I use the same password for all, slight variance in usernames. Only one account gives trouble, rest log in fine. Using SoD

I use the same password for all accounts, slight variances in the username, also. So far, now 2 of my 6 accounts can not log in. Literally, logged off, close the client, tried to log back in later in the day, and the 2nd account that I could log in earlier can not log in. There seems to be no correlation.

I use the same password, but I tried changing it with #setlsinfo without any success. My usernames are sequentially numbered with the same prefix. From what I can tell, there isn't anything client side affecting it. A new install of Ti or SoD will both produce the error using THF's login server on both of the affected accounts.

I've restarted a dozen times since the first issue without luck.

On another note, I've deleted every .ini file that I could find that was linked to any account or character, and still no success.

Also, Lillu even removed me from the database and had me reset my #setlsinfo with a new password, and still no success for the affected account. It's got to be an issue with either the username or ip address. I can log in other accounts just fine (at least until those give the same error, too).

Personally I don't think it's a username/password issue. From what I've gathered this issue popped in after most have already logged in a time or two on the account. I don't recieve the error at the username/pass section, it's at the server select screen. I also don't always recieve the unknown error, sometimes I'll get the "Cannot connect to server, check server downtimes" window instead.

From what I am told by KLS, most/all of the LS issues should now be resolved. I posted a few suggested changes for the code in our developer forums (private), but KLS said that it should be working fine now so the changes aren't needed.

What version of the EQEmuLoginServer is THF running? Also, Lillu, if you could enable logging for your Login Server and send them to a dev like KLS, Gaeorn, or even me so I can get it to them, it would help us isolate any further issues if there are indeed more problems with the code for it. I assume you are running the Login Server on a Windows system?
