I was looking through the enchanter epic 1.5 and 2.0 items today as the recent changes had peaked my interest in playing one. The 2.0 has an extremely disappointing click imo. Enchanter is a support class, much like bards and shamans. Enchanter epic 2 click is a -100mr debuff. This really doesn't play in to their role at all, sure it's a nice click to have, but lets face it, it's rarely something that would be of any use. The caster spells and weapon procs at the high end all have at least -100, if not -200 or -300 checks on them, and malo is what debuffs anything BUT magic. enchies already get ( I believe an unresistable ) -55 mr debuff.

I'd like to compare that to the bard and shaman epics, as they are both useful and both fall in to the group support roll. The shaman epic is a 500hp regen, 65% crit chance, and epic power proc. The bard click increases all damage by 60% and is a 35% melee damage mod. And both have a long enough duration and short enough recast that you can always have the buff up.

I'd like to see something in the middle, that's stackable with the other epic's. It's one suggestion, I'd like to hear others' feedback on this and the staff's as well. So many classes have such nice clickies on their epic 2 that the enchanter's click really stood out as something that was weak.

Sure, the -100 mr debuff isnt my epitome of creativity ;) Let's brainstorm some other ideas here.
Item Change -> Reload needed
Spell Change -> Reload AND new Spellfile needed

For 2.0, how about a -50 MR debuff clicky with a +30% Spell Crit Chance / +30% Melee Crit Chance group recourse effect? Or possibly the same debuff with a mod to mana cost reduction and increase mana pool by 3k group recourse effect (stackable with the current "thought" line)?

Or a -50 mr debuff and a silence for the affected mob. Would maybe be the end all to all debuffs, trivializing some encounters, but it would be the single most useful epic click, lol. That may be getting crazy, but I can dream eh?

I also for a group support clicky effect on 2.O
It would make sense to get a mana recovery effect per tick as bard/shaman have a regen one and a group manapool increased also.
As in general group haste is already on top, an additional effect on spell/melee critic chance would be a nice 3rd effect to add.

From my experience & my different toons/combo (8 diff characters 2.0) It would make sense to have a 2.0 chanty instead of 2.0 shamy in your group if you cant/doest want to have both. Loosing the shamy Hp/heal/Dps ability could have a dps/manapool/manaregen boost with chanty instead. (I actually play chanty with casters, shamy with melees - switching monk for druid when melees cant handle some hard fight/rampage/effect).

That was exactly my same thoughts, Lola. I figured that could help bring some much needed desirability to the enchanter class to offer an overall boost to both melee and caster dps, and/or possibly increase the effectiveness of priest classes via an increase in manapool and mana cost reduction while at the same time offer a MR debuff. Any variation of this combo in effects along the same lines would be handy, in my opinion.

I do not know the code behind the RUNE thing.

We could also (as chanty changes about true thought for example is really nice) have a look towards rune. But as I said, i do not know what is possible or not with code and Rune effects.

I like the idea of beneficial group effects in additional to the MR debuff one because it will not be a single "buffing time - all epics are clicked" but more oriented action/situation. Also, in this case, we have to be carefull as we do not want to have a recast delay on it because of the MR debuff (as it is actually). Adding/refreshing a Rune effect each time Epic is clicked would be also a great group beneficial component for example.

All ideas/input are welcome :)

I would advise against haste, as that is easily capped once you hit Ssra, if not before. The only option in haste is the overhaste, which would take away functionality from bards.

I also thought about the option of a group rune, but it would have to be a substantial rune to be worth it. The problem with runes is that you can't make them too huge so as to trivialize exp and other low npc situations, but if they aren't large enough, they aren't worth using through a high end rampage. One round and it's off in most cases. Just my opinion, but it would be so shortlived, that the benefits would be small. The only other option in that case is a defensive proc buff similar to the warrior disc "Aura of Runes" where you proc a rune everytime you are swung at. A group version of that effect would be killer for rampage.

I second you.

PS: Haste is capped once you hit ToV (and you do not have 2.0 in ToV) so haste component is useless. (clicky mithril gaunts + worn, no need if you have a bard).
