hukkak wrote:I just got raging servant on this server yesterday. So after testing it out a little bit today. Its completely useless. On live servers this is a 70+ mages most important spell line(besides a regular pet). On live servers this spell lasts 18 seconds, costs 1650 mana, and depending on your focus hits between 550 - 650 with up to 4 attacks per round. The pet was also a mages only source of CC, it came with built in super agro that made it take agro instantly basically. It was meant to be an offtank. On live servers this pet had nearly 20k hp, and enraged when low. All of that makes the 1650 mana cost a good tradeoff.

On this server, this pet lasts the same 18 seconds, costs the same 1650 mana. However, the max hit of the pet is 209 and it only double attacks. Focus effects do not work on the pet, or the one i have doesnt (minion of eternity). I took 10 parses of the raging servant attacking vlad and the average total damage done was 1566 in 18 seconds = 87 dps. 1650 mana for an average for 1566 damage really? on live servers this pet could easily hit 750 dps for the brief 18 seconds its up. It needs a major dps increase.

As for the pets tanking ability. I have no idea how much hp it has. But id guess less than 700 (he dies on the first hit of enrage to any mob in sebilis). I could care less how well it tanks, with regular pets being so much more buff than live servers, and bots available, this pet doesnt need to tank. However if theres a dps increase that makes this spell useful, its going to need hp's to survive in raid situations.

I'd like to bump this issue with the Raging Servant pet uselessness, and also add to it.

The AA "Host of the Elements" summons about 9 swarm pets for 30 seconds at rank 3 with a 15 minute CD. The problem is that the pets hit for between 10-40, which makes them completely useless. I used them on a normal LDoN trash mob to see how they did, and even with a pally bot + them the mob wasnt under 50% HP by the time the pets despawned.

Here is a link to the swarm pets: http://www.thehiddenforest.org/pet.php?name=mageSwarm

Another AA pet summon that mages get is called Servant of Ro. This pet, at rank 3, lasts 90 seconds and has a 9 minute CD. Here's a link to that one: http://www.thehiddenforest.org/pet.php?name=ServantRo

As you can see, both of those pets have pitiful damage as well as pitiful HP. They're also only level 61. I can't see them ever being used in their current state, so how about a little bit more mage lovin'?

Before i do anything else to mages, i really need to see some DPS parses, with and without 1.5 and 2.0 pets.

Raging Servant

I increased the lev to 65, max his is now 480 according to this quote from Allakhazam. HP is doubled.

Raging Servant quads for up to 480 and will crit if you have pet AAs. Its really fun watching a mobs health drop rapidly in a zone like Cazic Thule.

Host of the Elements will now summon this pet

Level increased to 65, min/max hit increased, now quads.

Finally, Servant of Ro got a major boost. Lev70 now, more DPS and quad attacks.

All in all, while looking quite boosted, i dont expect this to be more than 300-400 overall DPS increase (need to take the CD into account).

Anyways, looking forward to hear back from you Robe weares!

Here is a parse with the updated pets. I stopped the parse at 1.5 minutes (which is when the Servant of Ro despawned). For this parse I used Host of the Elements, Servant of Ro, and I spammed Raging Servant. The parse below is all 3 combined:

Vlad on 6/8/2010 in 95sec

Total
--- DMG: 85429 (100%) @ 899 dps (899 sdps)

Zilar`s pet
--- DMG: 77883 (91.17%) @ 820 dps (820 sdps)

Kalial
--- DMG: 7546 (8.83%) @ 80 dps (79 sdps)

Special: 7: 7th yr vet G: Glyph K: Kiss S: Staunch X: Slain $: Saved by DI
Produced by GamParse v1.0.3

Ignore Kalial, he's just another guy who was hitting the mob. The pets did 820 dps over a 95 second period. Not too shabby.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

My only complaint now though is the mana cost of Raging Servant for the dps gain. It costs double the amount of the LDoN nuke, but it doesnt even come close to matching the damage. Here is a parse of 1 raging servant cast, duration of parse matches the duration the pet was up.

Vlad on 6/8/2010 in 19sec

Total
--- DMG: 5661 (100%) @ 298 dps (298 sdps)

Zilar`s pet
--- DMG: 4174 (73.73%) @ 246 dps (220 sdps)

Kalial
--- DMG: 1487 (26.27%) @ 78 dps (78 sdps)

Special: 7: 7th yr vet G: Glyph K: Kiss S: Staunch X: Slain $: Saved by DI
Produced by GamParse v1.0.3

Notice the pet only did 4174 damage. That means I am using 2 seconds, and 1650 mana for 4174 damage. Not to mention that it will most likely die before it even gets to do half its potential damage. I could have just as easily casted 1 nuke in 2.7 seconds, which costs 975 mana, does 9k+ with focus, and can crit for double that. This is the whole problem with Raging Servant, and why it's not realistic to use it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, here's a parse similiar to the one I did last night where I parsed for 30 seconds with just swam pets.

Vlad on 6/8/2010 in 35sec

Total
--- DMG: 47140 (100%) @ 1347 dps (1347 sdps)
--- DMG to PC: 24 @1dps

Zilar`s pet
--- DMG: 43019 (91.26%) @ 1388 dps (1229 sdps)
--- DMG to PC: 24 @1dps

Kalial
--- DMG: 3683 (7.81%) @ 105 dps (105 sdps)

Zilar
--- DMG: 438 (0.93%) @ 31 dps (13 sdps)

Special: 7: 7th yr vet G: Glyph K: Kiss S: Staunch X: Slain $: Saved by DI
Produced by GamParse v1.0.3

Last night when I did this they parsed 400 DPS over 30 seconds, so as you can see there is a nice improvement here.
