This is probably the only EMU server where I have a civil tongue.
The biggest reason for this is because of how professional the staff here comes across towards the player base. I try very hard to not post rants, flames or anything to draw negative attention to this server or on the forums because the staff treats the players like adults.
So many servers have staff that treat the players like scum and do not wish to listen to them. Combine this with staff characters and staff player characters being known to the public on most servers and it raises issues.
If GM XYZ lets it be known his/her play character is the main tank for uber guild Alpha it creates the appearance of favoritism EVEN IF there is no basis to such a claim.
If DEV ABC lets it be known his/her play character is the main monk for uber guild Bravo and no guild or public group has been able to beat this snazzy new content then suddenly uber guild Bravo beats the content it creates the appearance of inappropriate staff actions EVEN IF there is no basis for it.
THF server as far as I know keeps away from such actions. If any of the staff are a member of one of the guilds, I currently do not know about it and truth be told I do not want to know about it. I like how the staff and the staffs play character are separated and the general public is left a guessing.
Most polite staff of any EMU to date.
THF Staff cracks down on bad behavior very quickly, like hungry snapping turtle quick.
The general community minus 1 or 5 bad apples are very nice people.
Lots of custom content, lots of my favorite zones used here.
No ALPHA class that rules all
No single class is useless
Reasons to join a server or stay:
I) I randomly clicked on it one day and saw "bots, buffbot, spell scriber" and it was nice.
A decent lazy mans server where I still have to work at grinding.
II) If I liked the server and wanted to donate I could get something out of it. The rewards are balanced to the prices unlike some servers. I have a history of donating to each server I play on so it worked for me.
III) Every time I spoke with a member of the staff it was very positive.
