PoFire Armor - Strange/Ornate Powerful/Elemental

As many already know, the Strange/Ornate and Powerful/Elemental armor sets use the same tradable components.

Both use the Tradable Components:
Strange <Material> Fluid
<Material> Stone

The problem here, is that the Strange <Material> Fluids price is greatly inflated by the value of the Powerful armor. In other words the fluid is usually sold at a price people are willing to pay for Powerful armor, but usually too high for Strange armor.

Secondly, many people agree that even for just the Stone alone, which is just 5k, makes the Strange armor too expensive for what it is worth.

To help offset the price of the Fluids and to make the Strange armor more worthwhile, I suggest that a new stone is created, which is only used for the Strange Armor and would cost significantly less than the original. The other option would be to completely get rid of the stone altogether, which is probably a much simpler change.

I dont see any issue here, farm your PP its too easy, and why bother trying to buy the mats when they are easy to farm? The reason why people charge so much is because everyone is too lazy to farm it, or its too tough to farm. So you can A) farm the PP to buy from others or B) farm the mats yourself. Im not trying to disrepect your post at all, i am just voting against it. If you dont know where to farm PP just use /OOC or /tell Rageful in game, i will certainly help. One last comment to add to this discussion, I would much rather our developers to invest time in the currect ongoing tier releases then to backtrack to "dumb down" old content.

It wasn't the aspect of being too lazy to farm, or dumbing down content, but rather, making the ornate armor actually used.

I think most people actually skip the ornate set, in favor of just waiting out for the Powerful drops, or just favor using another drop. If I were to spent the energy (like you said) farming out the components, I'd be extremely unwilling to waste them on the Strange set; after all; the Powerful set uses the exact same components. That's really the core problem.

Remember the reason to try to reduce the price was not to reduce the need to farm, but instead to lesson the pain of overlap with the components used for the Powerful set.

Actually with my alts I skip to this set(skipping the Kael armors) until they are able to get into ToV. The only mat that's really in big demand is the metal due to all the tank/cleric combos. I used to sell the combined fluids on my trader(quite reasonably concidering the 2 high end combines) but as demand within my guild rose I had to slow down hehe. If you have other materials you aren't needing try to /ooc a trade for what you do need. Be glad the stones are a vendor item instead of some random rare drop like the drake orbs are in ToV.(sometimes you'll hit a motherload and othertimes you'll come up with nada)

Remember that I didn't think the stones were hard to get, but rather the other components, which require drops in PoFire.

The PoFire drops for the Strange Silk/Chain/Leather/Metal might feel very similar to the orbs you mentioned. Strange Metal has a 3.75% drop rate and four are required for Strange Metal Fluid, which leads to the math:

100% / 3.75% * 4 = ~107 kills for four Strange Metal, used for a single Strange Metal Fluid.

That's a lot of farming.

After looking at the math, I don't think reducing the price of the purchasable item is going to make ornate any more used. I can't see someone realistically being able to throw the components just for ornate armor, when elemental armor uses the same components.
