Another SoA player!

Welcome

Warriors are the best single aggro tank in my opinion. But a pally is almost as good as a tank. Pallys are great for off tanking and aoe aggro though!

I would assume the knights need help a bit with autoattack hate, as Warriors are generating a purely higher amount with dual wield melee plus dual wielding procs, plus Flurry spam.

As it was previously put to me, when I was and still am asking the same questions, each has their ups and downs. Pallies and SK's have a higher AC due to the use of Shields, as well as the Shield Block aa that allows them a high amount of extra Avoidance with a shield, beyond that of stat buffs on gear.

Nexor is a high end Paladin tank, and the Main Tank of < Pain > is a Paladin, but I think they actually require their Donator weapon to tank well, due to the proc and such, however I could be totally wrong.

Shadowknights are another story, because I've yet to see a high end SK tank, even though I'm told they're decent with their clickies and such.

Warriors are, always have been, and always will be the go-to Endgame Tank. Their Defensives and other discs allow them a lot of tanking, but very little in the way of utility that, say, a Paladin would have with group heal procs left and right from his weapons.

All in all, in my short time on THF, I have found that classes are very balanced, and while there are probably a couple of cookie cutter group setups, I can't see saying one is 100% better than any other, and random combinations have worked. I've heard of a Pet Group in T5 consisting of a Pal Clr Brd Bst Nec Mag that did relatively well with the Cleric's Healing, the Paladin spot healing itself with procs and such, and the pets and their respective owners DPS'ing, while the bard boosted the whole group. Go with what you like, and if it doesn't work, rerolling won't be too hard.

I however do have one simple question, and that is: Are Paladins able to tank well without getting that extra boost from the Donator weapon? I haven't seen many one handed Knight weapons thus far, but then again I'm a fresh 70.

There is at least one dropping in Sleepers that comes to mind. (1h knight weapon).

Knight agro is fine. They get a very decent click on their ToV legs and in PoAir and even better upgrade to their already great stun line.

Actually, it was more survivability without the Donator weapon I was worried about. My wife and I do plan to donate, regardless, just not so soon, as we'd like to make sure this will be our new permanent home, but it looks good so far ~_^

Knights ability to tank Chardok/Ssra/etc with a group is what I'm wondering =)

Pally and SK can tank for groups with no problems.

Well, Friend has the donor sk weapon.
Him and I haven't gone after a RAID mob yet.
But on trash mobs, he pulls aggro without me flurrying.
